Yeah. Good safeties are of the essence in the cover 2, while the CBs are a little more protected, which could explain why they always have crappy CBs, and when they leave there, they do nothing (Marlin Jackson)

I go to at least a few Colts games every year, and I can honestly not remember the last time I saw him play. It's been a long time.

Sanders would be worth a small incentive laden deal like mentioned. When healthy he is far better than Chris Hope who should be cut soon.

Atogwe was just released by St. Louis he could be someone to look into.

Atogwe and Sanders are not even close to the same player. Sanders worked best as an in-the-box guy and Atogwe works best as a ballhawk.

Sanders would make a ton of sense in Jacksonville. If the Titans want to cut Hope, he makes some sense in Tennessee. He makes no sense in Houston because strong safety is one of the only secondary positions where they are somewhat okay (Bernard Pollard has been mostly a pleasant surprise).

If I had to bet, I would pick Dallas as Sanders' next team. They need an upgrade at safety bad.

Based on design, the tampa 2 puts the strong safety in a position to make plays more than any other player on the defense. I'm saying that any SS in the tampa 2 looks like a good player (see Melvin Bullitt and John Lynch). Put these guys in a defense where they are not the focal point and see how the play... again see John Lynch in Denver. Because they are always around the ball it gives a false impression that they are amazing players, but that is by design/scheme. Why is it that every defensive back that leaves the Dolts and goes to a different defense sucks... see Nick Harper and Jason David? I'm not saying that Bob Sanders wouldn't be good in any form of defense, I'm just saying that he looks much better than he is because of the scheme they play.

Stats prove the Colts were a better defense WITHOUT Bob Sanders than with him.

    Specifically pass defense.

Why? Because he was the Troy P that sucked in coverage. Wonder why he never got interceptions? Because he couldn't cover.

He was an overglorified undersized linebacker that hit a few guys low and made highlights so everyone overrated the everliving piss out of him.

But I know. Let the hype reign over the truth. As always... ESPN. :sad2:

I don't think this would be like the success we had with KVB and Babin...this guy can't stay healthy and while Hope had lost a step or two at least ha can warm up without getting injured.

I vote pass. I forsee nothing but people complaining abou another player that can't stay on the field.

Dude.....Nick Harper did a great job for us in 07-08. Give him some credit. He was not a bust. Same with David Thornton.

Analyze more that one season please.

They didnt get killed but werent solid.. i say no for Sanders. If we bring him in even for mininum, if he gets hurt who would we have behind him? Assuming Hope leaves no one.. they wont bring no other safety if we get Sanders. Hes the Tracy Mcgrady of the NFL
