Alright, I need help guys. I'm on the fence for this game. I never finished Killzone 2, didn't play the multiplayer. I thought the campaign was strong, and the multiplayer was meh.

Now, I'm reading reviews/seeing videos that the script has been flipped. The multiplayer is now extremely strong and the single player is a step back from the solid story in the 2nd. I'm intrigued by this, but I'm unsure just how good the multiplayer will be.

    Thoughts? Should I get it?

I say yes, but I liked the first.

It's similar to the MOH thread, short campaign and meat in the MP.

There's a multiplayer beta/demo available, might be worth checking it out for fence sitting.

I played the single player demo. I definitely liked it - felt basically exactly like KZ2, which isn't a bad thing.

    Multiplayer will decide it.

I never finished Killzone 2 either but I did spend many hours with the multiplayer. I think the main issue was the weight added to the controls, which was a big turn off for those used to the pace of games like COD.

The Killzone 3 multiplayer doesn't have that weight anymore and plays somewhat similar to the COD gameplay, so that is probably why it's getting better feedback this time around.

I didn't like the multiplayer because it was grossly unclear as to what you were supposed to do. It's a cool idea to have rotating objectives on a single map, but you need to make it more coherent.

This game seems to fix that, and all the commentaries I've heard on the beta say it's been highly improved.

I agree. I liked the idea of having multiple games in the one session (less loading time) but you basically had to rely on listening to Visari (or whoever) telling you.

I haven't had a chance to test out any of Killzone 3

That was definitely why I never got into it. The controls felt way too heavy compared to COD, which is my main FPS, and the adjustment was too frustrating when all you do is get killed.

I had the same issue as well, but you just get used to it after playing for a while. As for the beta, I didn't see any changes made to the way objectives/games are shown unless I missed something.

Yeah, it was way too extreme. It felt like if you were trying to drive a tank. I played for quite some time, but I could never adjust to the controls and eventually gave up.

I have just now started playing Killzone 2. I know the game play is little slower but i like it. It just seems more realistic to me. You guys may know this by now, but if you turn the High Precision option to on it makes the analog sticks more responsive. As soon as i beat KZ2 I am looking forward to getting KZ3.
