I don't think Rodgers learned anything directly from Favre. He might've learned from watching him, but by all reports they didn't have a relationship and Favre was very unapproachable to Rodgers.

After all, Rodgers was the competition.

I agree with almost everything you're saying here. The only thing is, when I look at Vince's career to this point, I see a guy that's taking a long time to develop. The thing is, while even you can agree that on the field he was above average, I don't think he's even close to hitting his ceiling.

To me, it's more like we drafted Vince out of high school instead of college (maturity issues, on and off the field). He's a long time project, but then it's like when his play is starting to get really good, we're getting rid of him. To me, it looks like a stupid situation. We're getting rid of a QB about to enter his prime to save face, and mostly to save a face that doesn't belong to this team anymore. Worse yet, what does it cost to find out if the situation is salvageable? Some light PR work? It doesn't cost a draft pick. It's a heavy contract for one year, but Bud seemed willing. It doesn't cost you, me or any other fan a damn thing to find out if this could work out; to find out where his ceiling really is before he's tossed aside.

Nonetheless, I don't stress much about this anymore. This is Munchak's team now. If he wants Vince, I believe he'll have Vince. If he doesn't, he won't, and you have to respect that. The coach is more important in this situation. You have to let him put his guys in place, on the staff and the roster. Let him do what he thinks he needs to do to succeed. It was unfair that Vince got thrown in the fire his rookie year. It was unfair that the team didn't put enough talent around him early in his career. It still would be unfair to make Munchak use a QB he doesn't feel he can win with. Can't go back and correct past injustices. Just do better moving forward.

Thought your post needed to be bumped. Excellent post.

With our QB problem solved (for next year atleast) we can focus on defense. We have all the talent needed to be Super Bowl contenders next year if we have a QB who can get us over the hump.

    basically agree with Psychop1

IF, and it ain't gonna happen, TItans retain services of 'the Diva' then once that roster bonus is paid IF it don't work out then all that is really lost is a roster spot.

Well it seems like there was clearly a divide amongst the coaches in the organization. People seem to think it was only between Vince and Fish, or one group of players against another, but it seems there was also a divide amongst the coaches.

It was a pretty bold move for Munch to fire Dinger so was Munch one of the coaches against Fisher or did he just feel Dinger couldn't get the job done? I say this because it seemed like Dinger and Fish were pretty close.

But in regards to the decision to keep Vince in some huge turn of events, the upside heavily outweighs the downside. We don't have a QB and Vince is better than all of the other options and wouldn't require draft picks or trades.

The players seem to rally around him, he's constantly improved his game, and last year he didn't turn the ball over. We had the #1 scoring offense in the league with Vince. Not saying he was the sole reason, but he was a vital piece. You can't do any better offensively than #1 scoring offense no matter what your QB stats are.

get over it man, Vince "The Drama Queen" Young WILL NOT BE A TITAN!!

"Asked Monday if the Titans' stance on Vince Young has changed, new coach Mike Munchak reiterated that V.Y. is no longer part of the team's plans.
"I think Vince, obviously, has already been dealt with, and I’d probably leave it at that," said Munchak. "I think we’re going to find someone, hopefully, that fits the personnel we have." The Titans are still hoping to get a late-round pick for Young, but there are too many factors working against them for that to happen. He's likely to be released outright this spring. Done and done, drop it, leave it, go away shut the front door on this dead horse.

On a side not, 42 TD and 42 INT yea so great stats

Did you just high five GoT who agreed with Pyschop and then "it sucks" and spaz out for me saying the exact same thing?

    Wow.

No matter how much you kick and scream, you won't make the QB decision nor will I. So chill. It's not over till its over. Ask Fisher.

He really needs to go to the Vikings, it's his best chance to excel. No competition right now, more plays in the gun, plenty of deep threats, and even a 70 year old Favre had more bootlegs/rollouts.

I think if Munchak had wanted Vince, he would have had him. I also think that there are many, many issues surrounding Vince and the team that we have no knowledge of, and if we did, this discussion would have died ages ago.
