I just totally disagree with the concept of a lame duck coach or an extension of Fisher. Already Bud Adams is putting pressure on whomever the new coach is by saying he wants a playoff team next year.

Fisher was too comfortable in his position here. He was too entrenched. He was getting elite pay for a mediocre performance. He valued friendships over having the best possible people. He was dating Bud's grandaughter for crying out loud. Munch will just be another new coach proving his worth. Connections might get him the job but the actions of the team has proven that 6-10 is not good enough.

He can't win half of his games over 3 seasons and expect to still have a job. 8-8 was good enough for Fisher it will not be good enough for any new coach.

Yes, he is my TOP choice... his past speaks for himself and if that's not enough, others from outside this organization speak highly of him.

So... yes I want Munchak to be our next head coach... and hopefully for a long time.

One more thing... bring Kevin Mawae to be our OL coach.

It's already been decided. The other interviews are a formality. We are seeing the PR machine getting the fans ready for the hire from within.

I was thinking last night about it. No way in hell Bud is going to pay for a bunch of assistants that have already been extended AND new assistants that might come in from outside on top of the 8 million he is going to pay Fisher. IMO- if it goes down as I suspect (hiring from within), I consider this a complete and utter cluster-f*ck.

I agree with your point but I thought Fisher was getting $4M and Cecil $1M. I've seen reports that Adams is willing to pay the new coach $2.5 which is a pretty reasonable amount unless he is going after a big name (which it's pretty obvious is not the case).

Munch has been the guy since the beginning. That's why Gregg Williams dropped out. These other interviewees are to pacify the masses that Munch was definitely "the guy". Mularkey, fewell don't really seem to have a legit shot at the job.

And Earl Campbell. This dude has got some cred...very good players that played with or for him are singing his praises. The more I hear, the less I am opposed. It seems like a 'safe' move, but I'll just be frank: anything is better then Fisher. Just give me something new for the love of God. If Munchak doesn't work out, at least we tried something, on to the next one. If he does, well, the sky is the limit in years to come with our squad plus 1 good QB 1 good LB 1 very good DT.

I agree with your post but don't like it. I hope they go outside the organization to get a coach but they won't

I agree, someone new will be a fresh new start. But I will back Munch if he is the choice.
