Losing the coaches won't matter in the coaching search because the new HC would likely bring in his own staff anyways. I don't see Bud as a problem either now that VY will be gone. A new coach can now come in, pick his QB and his staff. Bud has also shown that he will be loyal to a head coach. I think it is a much better opportunity then many in the national media want to give it credit for.

If people are still taking the Raiders head coaching job, someone will take this one. But Bud Adams lost his mind a few years ago and it will be a long time coming when he finally steps down.

Exactly. This job is so much nicer than the Raiders, Panthers, Broncos, Browns, IMO.

You've got an owner who is known to hold on to coaches in he name of continuity. Al Davis drops them like hot potatoes.

Personnel-wise, they all are pretty much blank slates.

    Chris Johnson and Britt.

    The opportunity.

    The money.

People will want to coach here.

Someone will, but it will not be a top name. A lot of the posters here way overvalue how attractive this job is. Peter King said today that it is not thought of as a good job.

People should start preparing themselves to be underwhelmed by the new HC and his staff. There's no chance that a guy like Cowher comes to Tennessee. Probably can't even get a guy who's in a tier lower than Cowher. Best thing to hope for is that the Titans get a young, unheard of guy who develops into a great coach.

Why?? That's exactly who we just got rid of! I'm appalled that Gut even suggested it.

"Fisherball" is "Martyball" played in Tennessee, and it has exactly the same results post season as Martyball has: one and done.

R2P2: run run pass punt, ad infinitum. No thanks.

Cowher and Gruden are the only 'top name' coaches out there anyhow. Why would you want either one of them? They are likely stuck in past also. The game changes on a yearly basis anymore; It's time we got a young, innovative, hungry guy that can motivate.

I totally agree! Hopefully Moss will stay and we can get a coaching staff who will use him with Britt. Would be amazing!

Actually I'd view this as a huge opportunity if I were a perspective coach. A hands off owner, Bud pretty much stays away from the day to day operations. Not being shackled with assistant coaches contracts. A solid core of players and a solid FO. If I were a Gruden or Cowher I'd see this as a perfect chance to start over with a clean slate.

Let us not forget that we have "Every Coach's Dream!"

The Titans do have some respectable pieces in place, its not like we're the Lions of a few years ago or the current Panthers. And like some posters have already said, a new coach is going to want to put his own hand-selected staff together anyway, so I don't see a depleted roster of assistants as a downside at all.

There are only 32 of these jobs and you can't find a higher profile, higher paying (maybe a few college programs), more prestigious job out there. Someone will want to take the opportunity, let's just hope whoever it is is smart and does a good job.

I think I'm hoping for Perry Fewell or Gregg Williams.
