Can anyone justify Andrew Luck's decision?

If you are unwilling to look at anything beyond money, then, yeah it was the wrong decision.

I think most pros will tell you that being a college star is more fun than pro ball. The window of opportunity for Andrew Luck to be a college football star and to live with his friends and teammates is smaller than that of being a millionaire in pro ball. It is a risk to go back to school, but I'm sure it is a calculated risk. Sam Bradford's success after losing his last college season to injury makes it seem like an even smaller risk.

 

You know, for some, there is life outside football and money is not the be-all and end-all of their existence. The money is what makes athletic, but otherwise ingnorant young men go into sports in hope of making the millions. It is very unfortunate that they do this because they usually do not make big money for any length of time, but they are so undereducated that they can do nothing else. sad

It's probably been mentioned already, but there WILL be a rookie scale for this draft. Teams can't sign their picks until a new CBA is in place, and the new CBA will have a rookie salary cap. He did NOT leave $50 million or whatever on the table.

He's the #1 pick next year. He might get a scaled salary but he is going to be set for life the minute he signs his sponsorship deals. And he is going to get many of them.

Perhaps he likes school? He only gets to go for 4 years in his life and then its work work work.
Perhaps he sees more to life then money and material goods.
Perhaps he values education.

He doesn't need a reason to satisfy your moronic little mind and you're not going to be satisfied because you will never accept a reason to leave $50 million on the table simply because you are never going to see that much money.
