I disagree. I think Mallett could easily fall into the 2nd round.

QBs fall every year. For example

2010: Jimmy Clausen (projected Top 5/10) - went 48th overall.
Colt McCoy (projected late 1st/early 2nd) - went 85th overall.

2009: The opposite happened. Jets reached on Sanchez. Bucs reached on Freeman.

2007: Brady Quinn (in some mocks he was projected to go #1) - Fell to #22.

With all of the good QBs in this draft.. someone will slide. It could be Mallett. His bowl game will be a huge factor.

Huh? If they had taken Freeman with the first pick in the draft it would not have been a reach. He is outstanding.

You hit the nail on the head with this one. It's exactly what I've been saying... many of these QBs will fall out of round 1. The question is how many of them come off the board when we pick in round 2. And yes, Freeman was a bit of a reach at what 22, just because of his lack of a College resume. He's worked out well, but at the time he was a reach.

Absolutely. He's going to be a very good QB in this league. I don't think I've ever seen a more consistent QB, either. Manning and Brady had more bad days this year than Freeman.

QBs like Mallett, Gabbert, and Locker all tend to improve their stock once the season ends because their biggest strength is arm strength. They can show it off in a controlled environment at their pro day. Remember everyone raving about JaMarcus Russell's pro day? People were saying, at the time, that it was the best workout they had ever seen. I would not be surprised to see all 3 of these guys go in the top 10, or all of them fall out of the first.

If we somehow end up drafting Gabbert we all need to set our status to "Gabbo Is Coming"

Heck I might even have some shirt made up.
