Dallas has a head coach because he was an assistant coach who was APPOINTED to take over for Wade Phillips (a Jerry Jones "yes man" right up until his dismissal).

And AGAIN, I am not saying that no one will come here. Money can buy alot of folks, and there probably are some people naive enough to think that they can change VY and talk Bud into backing him...absolutely true. Just not someone who I consider a credible candidate.

Just for kicks, which coordinators do you have in mind?

I think that Ron Rivera is a guy that should get some attention, not just to fulfill the Rooney rule obligation but to seriously consider. I want Holmgren but I think that Rivera has coached some of the best Ds around the last few years. I know that Chicago and SD were known for having some tough Ds last I recall. I think it's more than a coincidence that his Ds have been badass.

the only knock on rivera is that we might have to switch our D to a 3-4 and that would only set us back even further that we alread are. i would not be against getting him though i think he will make a good HC.

i think we should get mike murlarkey (falcons OC) then get somebody like mike zimmer to be our DC. i dont think it would happen though

The problem here is that the new HC will be handcuffed by his QB's limitations. The Titans can bring in the next Belichick but he's going to see limited success if he has to water down his offense.

What makes anyone here think Fisher/Dinger's decisions on offense, many here are so critical of, isn't based on what Young can do in an offense now?

Actually, I think the 3-4 is exactly the defensive switch we need, here's why...

With the 3-4 you can get a lot out of little. What I mean is you can make up for overall lack of talent by using a complex blitzing scheme. If we could get Rivera or Nolan and sign Woodley we'd have a pretty damn good start. In my eyes Jason Jones and Morgan would be perfect 3-4 DE's. Both are big in the 280-290 range and can really pass rush. Griffin could easily play the Strong Safety Polomalu role, in fact, I think he'd thrive in it. Also Witherspoon and McRath would fit well. On the other hand, Tulloch would have to be replaced and we'd have to beef up the DT position but otherwise we have a lot of what we already need. Since it looks as though Bud will stick with VY, we have a lot of picks to work with to revamp for the 3-4.

Of course if A.J. Green is on the board, by some miracle, then we'd have to take him. But shutdown Corner/Rush LB, or Big DT and we're on the right track.

    VY's reaction to them.

He has improved (which surprised me) and shown he can be more than a running QB/handoff man only to watch CJ being run up the gut over and over and over and over again. It looks to me like a guy who's frustrated with Fisherball and sees the same thing many others here see. He could pick better ways to handle it for sure...unless he was possibly wanting to be cut.
