Tyler Bray

He's got everything it takes to be a #1 pick. His maturity is the only thing that could hinder him...there are some issues there. If he keeps buying in and working hard though, Jim Chaney will turn him into a Heisman candidate before it's said and done.

 

I would like to see him win an SEC championship before he goes to the NFL.

 

He's got a great arm, this was really the first time I paid attention to the Vols since the LSU nonsense.. guess I'll have to actually care next season.. maybe. He's at least got some upside, unlike the last ..13 or so QBs we've had.

He should have taken the starting position earlier, but I think everyone is jumping the gun.

I really like him, and his chances. But keep in mind, he's probably more likely to be another McElroy or Erik Ainge than Peyton. That's just the way the odds work.

 

I would agree. Way too early to compare Bray to anyone just yet. Most are excited because as a true freshman, he has played better than any other true freshman in a long time at UT (including Peyton). But not like he was playing top teams either. I think Dooley did an excellent job bringing him along. If they would have feed him to the big dogs early, with 2-3 true freshman playing on the OL, it could have really damaged his confidence.

As far as comparing him to McElroy, I would be fine with that. Kid has an NC ring.

 

I don't think that loss will affect his career at all. Vols lost because a kicker missed an extra point and Big 10 officials don't know the rules. Game should have never gone to overtime period.

 

Only you guys would bash refs that the rest of the country thought gave UT WAY too many chances in that game. Refs gave UT chance after chance. They just kept shooting themselves in the foot. They even wiped off an offsides penalty, a late hit penalty, and a catch by a UNC WR that probably wasn't actually OOB simply because 1 UT coach was on the sidelines pleading for it. But yeah... think of the final play (much like the one UT won a game off of 2 seasons ago).
