It's great that you disagree, but in my opinion most coaches are not lacking in confidence or ego. Do you really believe that they don't think or feel that they can get the most out of the talent that they are given? I guarantee that 99% of the coaches out there think they can get better results than their predecesors. Plus they want to prove their worth. The arguement that they wouldn't want to come into this situation is not realistic. Most coaches, especially the good ones feel that their system and teaching techniques will benefit the talent they have. Not, that they need star players to make their system work. Does it help? Sure
but that is the added bonus of having stars. Do they want superstars in every position? You betcha, is it realistic? Not really. Honestly, is maturity the deciding factor in a leader? My gut says it's charisma and the feeling of immortality or undefeatabilty that one projects to his peers, and any coach worth his salt will take that into consideration.

He went 12-4 in 2008, same year as Fisher's latest winning season. The "knock" on Fox could be that he always has a bad season on the heel of a good season, whereas Fisher usually strings together 2 good seasons before he has a bad season (99-00, 02-03, 07-08).

Ok, but I don't think the elite coaches have anything to prove, they've already proven themselves. I would believe that most elite coaches, who have their pick of the litter, would vie for safer options. Take, for example, Bill Cowher. It's been widely reported that he wants to go somewhere with an established QB. That's why he's been so interested in New York and Houston. People here can continue to believe that Tennessee is an ideal hot spot for "A" list coaches, but until we get rid of VY, it's not happening. New regimes mean new QBs.

Sanchez is an 'established" QB. Really? How is he any better than what we have currently on the roster?

I believe that 24 is talking about the Giants, not the Jets.

Overall good response, but I have to take issue with what I put in bold above. UNCERTAIN ASSET??? It has been 5 YEARS NOW. That is way past the time it takes to evaluate an "asset", IMO. For alot of NFL players I would say that 5 years is their whole career.

Look, all I am saying is that, as someone who has been in management positions, both before and currently, I know that this situation is problematic based on events that were not "behind closed doors". Any time you have a subordinate who has the ear of your boss you are going to be the "odd man out" when it is a situation of you vs. the subordinate. Bud proved that when, after the locker room fiasco, he did not PUBLICLY take Fisher's side. He could have (and should have, IMO) backed Fisher publicly, then taken him to the woodshed privately for his behavior after the incident occurred (which I am in no way condoning here). However, he did not do that. Instead, by his very loud and silly "can't we all get along" statement, he threw Fisher under the bus. This is what would give me pause, if I were a candidate for this (which I most certainly am not).

Past performance is usually a very good indicator of future behavior, and any credible coaching candidate will see this.

AGAIN, please see my numerous other posts on this thread for elaboration. It has nothing to do with money, ego, initiative, charisma, Fisher, VY, etc., it is about CHAIN OF COMMAND. Please read other posts, as I am getting tired of rewriting it over and over.

    If it were that simple.

Any new HC is going to look at the personnel and bring in a OC/DC based on the talent he is given. I don't see any HC coming in here and doing what Shanahan did in Washington. He's going to likely keep a 4-3 defense and put in an offense he thinks suits Young's abilities.

IMO, he's not going to force a square peg into a round hole if he wants to see any success and keep his job.

I hafta say everybody makes some really good points. I want whats best for the team. The first move that needs to be made in the best interest of the team is to get rid of Fisher. I feel that for the most part we can all agree on that.

I personally want Holmgren, he's got the resume and experience. He's a great QB coach, and has shown that he knows how to succeed. He took a down and out Seattle franchise and turned them into Division and Conference Champs and even Super Bowl contenders. If he came here to TN, he'd have more weapons than he did in Seattle.

Arguably the best RB in the league (top 5 for sure), great young WRs, up and coming TEs, solid OTs and a decent group of defensive guys to work with. We are close and if we keep the core group of guys together and add a few missing pieces like AH and a draft a guy like Prince Akamura or a stud LB or OL we could be contenders for sure.

Sure sounds like fisher maybe in BIG D! That is what the nfl network is saying. Fisher gets what he deserves when he goes there!

I was hoping for Houston, so we could play him twice and not have to study very much.

But Dallas will be great, Media will be tough and an owner that really cares!
