Besides C.J., who's trade bait?

get a new d cordinator, a real one this time, see how Fish does with that for a year then go into this if neccessary, We also need to get Mallet if at all possible, bring Bullick back at any cost at or below a third round pick, his leadership is worth it, get Blount back as well

I'll say it again because some people are still not getting it:

You don't trade Pro Bowl players unless it's your absolute last resort. Every team hopes and prays that 1 out of every 3 draft picks will turn into a Pro Bowler, so why on earth would you then turn around and trade a Pro Bowler for a draft pick that probably won't even pan out? It makes no sense.

Chris Johnson is not getting traded. Michael Griffin is not getting traded. Michael Roos is not getting traded. If you think they are, you live in fantasy land.

This team needs a shake-up. That will come in the form of a new coach and/or new quarterback. It will not come in the form of trading away the team's best players.

I will also add that I doubt Kevin Kolb gets traded. Adam Schefter has said the same thing.

Kevin Kolb is fairly cheap for the Eagles. Michael Vick is pretty old and not a long-term answer at QB. They will probably put the franchise tag on Vick and keep Kolb as a backup (and eventual replacement for Vick).

If the Titans were to trade for Kolb, it would take a 1st rounder plus another good pick. Kolb is not at all proven and, from what we have seen, he's not even that good. I really doubt Kolb is going to become a Titan.

I agree with most of what you're saying here. This team isn't in need of a complete blowup. We have a lot of solid-to-great young(/ish) talent to build around. I don't see the point in trading guys like Griffin and Roos at this point.

However, CJ is a totally different situation. I don't see him being traded simply for the draft picks or another player. That would be nonsense. But if his contract talks go bad then I could totally see a trade being a possibility. So I don't really see how anyone can say he "is not getting traded" with such conviction.

CJ isn't the happiest of guys right now. And I don't think he's going to come off the idea of a "history deal" at all. I doubt he'll be willing to accept any (or very much) less than he was wanting before this season. Regardless of having an "off year" this season. Because you know that's how CJ will look at it... as an off year. He won't just go "Okay yeah, apparently the 2K season was a fluke. Just give me a deal in line with the rest of the upper echelon starting RBs." The guy is wanting serious, serious bank. Expect this thing to get ugly in the offseason.

Obviously the ideal situation is to get him locked up in a long-term deal both sides are happy with. I'm just saying I don't think it's going to be as easy as a lot of people around here seem to think. We shall see.

As for the original question of this thread... I honestly don't see anyone on our roster with any significant trade value that we wouldn't be better off keeping. :hmm:

If Johnson won't sign for a reasonable deal, then the only option would be to trade him. But that would have to be the absolute last resort and it might be worth letting him sit out a year (like Vincent Jackson) before you decide to trade him away.

    I agree with you.

And sadly you are right. Schefter was saying that Kolb won't get traded unless the Eagles receive 2 1st rounders in return. That would be just plain stupid to trade 2 1sts for Kolb. I wouldn't even trade 1 first.

Dude, Peyton Hillis is a beast, but you can't trade him for CJ. We could put together another package to get him if we needed too. I love Peyton, he's as old school as it gets. I watch Browns game every Sunday and I see alot of this kid. Very, very monsterous man. Very powerful and extremely explosive. Other than his head-scratching knack for putting the ball on the ground, my only fear with Hillis is that he is going to break down at some point soon. The wear and tear on his body thus far has been remarkable... he's getting run into the ground because of Cleveland's ineffiecent passing game.

I agree with you on this Kolb is very average I would give Eagles 3 round for him I would still develop or draft a rookie QB. And find a young Head Coach and we need LB's and safety help.

Well, that and the fact that he's clearly a roid monster. I expect Hillis will be a flash in the pan and will come back down to earth in a big way in the near future (like we saw with Shawne Merriman after he got off the roids).

I'm just speculating here and I don't have any hard evidence. But when you look at Hillis' physique and the fact that he came out of nowhere to be this monster, you have to ask some questions.

Regardless, I wouldn't trade Chris Johnson for 3 Peyton Hillises. The talent level is not comparable.

C.J. is the last guy I want being moved, but seriously, this team is going nowhere with him. In 2008 we made the playoffs, but not because of C.J., it was a complete team effort. In 2009 when the focus is all on C.J., we start 0-6, and end up a .500 team. Now in 2010 we're 5-6. I'm not by any means saying C.J. is the cause of our hardships, but Fisher doesn't utilize the guys abilities. He keeps running him as if he's Peyton Hillis or Steven Jackson. Why not get the most out of him? I love having C.J., but he's a RB who's been figured out. The only way he succeeds is when the threat of a pass is there, which right this moment isn't. IDK maybe it's just wishful thinking. Wouldn't we benefit from a powerback considering we're a run first team? Defenses fear C.J. too much not to account for his whereabouts... A guy like Hillis and others get their yards because they (1) go unnoticed, and (2) beat the hell out of you making you not want to tackle them.

To me, we should be pounding guys with a bigger RB, then let C.J. gouge them for huge yards. I'd love to see C.J. lineup just off the TE.
