Oh, and to answer your question...

If Rusty does good, he'll probably start next week. Mostly due to KC still being injured and Fish will want to get him at 100%. If Rusty has back to back good games.. good chance he'll finish the year - but there is also a good chance Fisher will just put KC in.

I would love nothing more than for Rusty to become a legit QB. For some reason he reminds me of Phillip Rivers - that would be amazing if he turned out like that (extremely unlikely).

If Rusty does do amazing, my guess is VY will be gone. Although Bud Adams loves him... But if Rusty does legit, hopefully Bud realizes VY isn't getting the job done. I like VY, and physically I think he's a capable QB.. not 100% sure if he's mentally ready to lead a team. It would be smart to trade VY to someone like Vikings, 49ers, or Raiders. Then either re-sign KC for a year or another decent FA QB. Then we should also draft a 4th-6th round QB as a developmental QB.

Leading the Titans to sign Young to a large money long term deal. The next year the team starts slow, fans boo. Vince pouts and is benched. Its an endless loop.

I did a little research out of curiosity. These are teams in the top 25 hes faced from 2007-09. Keep in mind that his receiving core and offensive line were compleely outmatched in these games.

    2007

    VS Kentucky

    15/25 184 YDs, 1 TD, 1 INT

vs South Florida (they were good that year)

    23/47. 259 YDs, 3 TDs, 1 INT

    vs Florida(Teboow huahhhhhhhh!!)

    18/33, 290 YDs, 1 TD

Those were all good teams that year.

    2008

    vs Texas

    15/31, 253 YDs, 1 TD, 1 INT

    2009

Nebraska(his worst game, but comeon, Suh probably set up camp in his backfield.)

    15/31, 164 YDs, 2 INTs

South Carolina (they had the second best D in the SEC behind Alabama IMO)

    21/31, 198 YDs, 2 TDs, 1 INT
    ------
So his numbers against the big boys werent bad considering the immense handicapp as a team. Rusty comes in as a relative unknown, I dont even know if he made it to the combine. To be honest, I dont know what to expect in a few hours. Though I am sure itll leave us with the impression that he can grow a bit.

It is possible to get noticed and keep your job in a short window. Vick of course is the obvious example this season but another rookie, Colt McCoy has managed to stay out there for Cleveland when many thought it would take him longer to be a credible NFL QB.

Rusty knows he has a very short window to prove himself....this week and maybe next week. Houston is a desperate club that will be looking to rattle the rookie. Most people are looking for us to lose this game. But if Rusty actually spends time looking for opportunities like Randy Moss like he did last week versus VY who never seemed to look his way at all, this could be interesting.

Why would Fisher want to "talk him up"? Rusty at QB now gives fisher an excuse to lose.

He also played big in his 2 bowl games both wins. He was MVP in the motor city bowl against a good Central Michigan team and he was outstanding against Memphis in the New Orleans bowl.

I hope you're right about Rusty! Tom Brady was a sixth round pick too wasn't he? :)
