Yes- provided it was truly severe enough to need surgery Vince would be done for the year.

I believe it is but the difference is the thumb versus a finger. The thumb is the only digit that provides opposing force to the fingers whereas there are 4 fingers to provide opposing force to the thumb. Grip strength would be less effected with a finger injury.

Thanks Riverman. I'd high five you but I'm all out.

So it sounds like if it's truly serious, VY would be on IR regardless of the drama. It'll be interesting to hear if he gets a second opinion, and if and when he actually has surgery.

IR equals nice loophole to get around VY. Nice move Jeff. But can't say, VY did not have it coming. Time to grow up Vince. Jeff may have done him a HUGE favor. Hopefully he realizes it before 2011. I will cheer him on no matter the team.

PS: most men don't begin to grow up until their late twenties. I don't excuse his actions, but I understand.

Here in Houston, folks think the Titans will win the game. Sad to be a Texan fan these days. There's also hope that Jeff lands in Houston if Bud allows it to happen.

Here are some QBs that are close to VY's age and experience:
    (VY, 27, 5th season)

    Matt Ryan(Falcons)25. 3rd season
    Joe Flacco(Ravens)25, 3rd season
    Ryan Fitzpatrick(Bills)28, 5th Season
    Matt Moore(Carolina)26, 4th season
    Jay Cutler(Bears)27, 5th season
    Kyle Orton(Broncos)28, 6th season
    Aaron Rodges(Packers)26, 6th season
    Matt Cassel(Chiefs)28, 6th season
    Chad Henne(Miami)25, 3rd season
...other than VY, this group looks like a pretty mature group to me.

I'd take Vince over any QB on that list that's been in the league 5 years or less.

I don't know how Culter made that list considering he cried his way out of Denver, instead of trying to work it out with his coach. His maturity is just as bad in my book.
