Well, there's worse things for some promising coordinator out there. They get the top RB in the game, a rising WR and possibly a QB who will dedicate himself to the game because he's in the final year of his contract. And, piggyback this with the drafting of a top QB, a trade or Rusty (if he shows potential) and you have a replacement ready to go a year after. Oh, and there's a few million dollars of take home to ease the pain.

He may be. But Bud has done what Bud wants to do for a long time. Telling his coach and QB to get along is far from the worst thing he's been a part of as an owner. This is the Bud the people of Houston know well.

Maybe. But he's diverted a lot of the attention from the team to himself and bought a lot of time to watch how the rest of the season unfolds before making any decisions.

I just can't help thinking that Bud is on point with this. Fisher is a half way decent coach. VY is a better than avg QB. The best of all possible situations is that the 2 of them get in a room and work it out. Fish needs to give VY a chance and not use any excuse to not play him. VY needs to stop with the public displays/temper tantrums [which are brought on by a coach who doesn't believe in him] and deal with Fisher face to face in private.
In a lot of ways Fisher is also acting like a child. Stubbornly staying with Collins after 6 losses last year was just dumb, and should have cost him his job then.

The alternative is ... and maybe Adams knows this ... a revolving door of coaches and QB's. Now that would be an Al Davis trade mark.

From Bud's viewpoint there is no harm in trying. If it fails he can always let one go after the season. Despite what people say, maybe Bud is the only adult in the room.

Wasn't he right the last time he dictated something?

I kinda wish Vince would have played the first 6 games last year. Steelers, Jets, Colts, Patriots... Good for his starter record he didn't

I agree with Jeff. Some of you allow your dislike of Bud to cloud your perception of this move. Maybe some folks don't understand a good strategy, but I think Bud did a pretty good thing here.

A lot of you say Vince can't win, and he's a baby. Well, he certainly can win, and you have to wonder (at least I do) how much more if he had an offense tailored to his strengths. Up until the last few games, this seemed to be the season where it all was coming together. Vince's understanding of the game, the still-slow-but-better-than-no-movement-at-all development of the offensive gameplanning in the face of CJ being stopped cold weekly, etc.

It should be clear to anyone unbiased enough from either side to see that VY has not been given every opportunity to flourish under Jeff. I do think Fish has handled VY extremely well at times, but I also think he rides a situation until it appears amicable, i.e. inserting VY last year and naming him the starter for this year. He didn't like it, but he did it. He didn't want to pass to set up the run. But he did it. But he also let his bias show, and since he's older, I find that just as unacceptable as Vince's temper tantrums.

I said Young is a baby. He needs to understand by last Sunday evening that if he wants to have a successful career anywhere, as well as command the respect of a lockerroom (which goes beyond on-field ability) and lead a team, that kind of outburst cannot go on.

On the flip side, Fisher I think has an easy time pushing Young's buttons, and he can do it quite indirectly, as the Washington game proved. So VY might be a baby, but I think Fisher has dropped the baby a few times. On purpose.

So maybe these two find a way to work it out. Maybe Fisher is worn out by season's end. Maybe Young demands his way out of Tennessee. But I think any decision at the moment leaves too many Titans fans miserable. Bud was correct that no emotional decisions needed to be made at this time.

Yeah, me, too. We might have beaten the Jets, Texans and maybe even the Steelers. Two more wins we might have gone into the playoffs. Same in 2006 versus the Dolphins and Jets(?).

Question: How can a team featuring Chris Johnson, Randy Moss and Vince Young go from first to worst in less than a month?

Answer: By not trading for Albert Haynesworth when it had the chance.

I just wanted to say VY/JF drama aside, this team would still be in pretty good shape if we had a DT who could actually plug the middle as well as collapse the pocket.

We might have beaten the Jets....maybe even the Steelers? The Jets defense eats up Vince any day anytime. By the way, even their 2nd year qb is better than Vince already. Steelers? You are kidding, right? It was a pretty close game because Vince didn't play. I still give him credit tho for beating the crapy teams and picking up momentum. I doubt he would have done it if he would have played in the first 6 games. Just for the record, I still don't hate Vince. I just can't understand why people blame Fisher for not winning the Super Bowl and at the same time they are happy with Vince. No NFL team will ever win the big one with Vince as starting qb. No way! The same people want Jon Gruden. I really like Gruden but isn't he just like Fisher? Same pros and cons?

I am not sure you lmow how right you are. The extra help he could have given us, would be incredible. But I guess he was not worth the 3rd or whatever it was that they were asking but said that they were not asking.
    Redskins dont utilize him correctly.
