I haven't created a thread, but after this weeks game I am at my wits end. Lets look at all the phases of our team this year.

-- Home field means NOTHING to us
-- Our Defense is small and cant stop anyone. We got lucky Wash didn't put 30 on us....WITH BACKUPS
-- QB - Horrible...all of them. I think VY has the best ability, but mentally he is a turd.
-- RB - We are blessed, but have nothing to go along with it.
-- WR - We have athletes, but no-one to get them the ball, and play calling is horrible
-- COACHES - I dunno, I am not one that screams FIRE FIRE FIRE, but is it time for a change? I hate to start over, but how long has it been since we have done anything ??
-- Penalties - This goes to coaches. To many penalties. We make a tackle on 1st down and the DLINE acts like they won the superbowl. Then they give up a first down next play. Seems like an overall lack of discipline...but I could deal with it if we were winning.

Ok, got it off my chest. Delete this is need be, but I had to vent. We deserved to lose today, and are VERY lucky it was not by 30.

They aren't bad. They're mediocre. They aren't a playoff team.

People had high expectations for this team coming into the season, and early on when they had some early success. But despite some serious talent, this team isn't a playoff one.

It's undisciplined, it's undersized in bad places, and it's coached by a guy who isn't making the right adjustments. The team doesn't seem to respond to Fisher all that well, and that's usually not a good reflection. Today was a frustrating game, but I don't think it was ever a season-defining one. This team is mediocre, maybe a hair above .500 when it's all said and done. But it just isn't built to compete against the elite teams.

I don't know why everyone went into this season with such high hopes. We finished last year 8-8 and did very little make the team any better. We replaced guys who've been to pro bowls with scrubs and five years after Young was drafted we STILL don't know if he's the long-term answer.

I predicted 9-7 before the season started and I'm sticking by that.

Kami and Bigtitan - Both of you make valid points. The not covering the TE is KILLING me. I know it has had to have been brought up my coaches (right?) so does that mean our LB or SS is that bad?

    Possibly.

I like McRath and Tulloch a lot, but they're not coverage guys, especially Tully. He's a thumper at MLB and is playing in the nickle/dime because we don't have anyone else to play there.

Hope's play has just dropped off terribly. That play when he dove at Davis' feet and didn't wrap up was unacceptable. The play went from a gain of 0 to 21.

We have five new starters on defense, six if you count Jones hardly playing last year, and most of them aren't very talented(Ball, Babin, and Witherspoon).

Inconsistent pressure I'd say. Sure, they get a good amount of sacks. But those tend to come in bunches.

I'd say 75% of the reason the Redskins were 1) so successful on 3rd down (and they're usually horrible in this area, BTW) and 2) getting so many balls over the middle and to Cooley is that the defensive line was getting engulfed and dominated more often than not. They were getting good pressure in OT, but too little too late it seems.

The defensive line is undersized. Great depth players, but even that is usually on the outside. Jason Jones missing time hurt, but there has to be some bigger bodies down the middle.

If they go 2-2 against those teams, it'll be a HUGE accomplishment.
