He needs to quit worrying about his tweetering, and find the holes better. I have seen him miss a lot of cuts this year.

Think he's going through what all great players go through. He will learn how to run against more defenders as he sees more of it. Same thing happens in the NBA with double teams, and mlb with great hitters getting walked. What he's seeing will make him better. It's the evolution of greatness. And he has to go through it.

Good stuff on The Zone this morning discussing the Titans running game.

    Many factors were mentioned:

Amano and Harris aren't getting it done. Too many misses or holding blocks long enough. Same breakdowns for Scott. Should get better as they work together. Timing should improve.

CJ isn't hitting it. He's looking for HRs on every snap. Seems to have lost a bit of the explosiveness he had last season.

Young's arm doesn't scare defenses enough to force defenses to back up. He continues to struggle against 3-4 defenses.

Dinger isn't spreading the offense or doing enough to keep defenses guessing but, basically, the Titans need to be able to run even when defenses are lining up to stop it.

Keith said the Titans are working this week on run game timing. It was mentioned that teams stacking it in is not necessarily bad because, if CJ gets to some daylight, he doesn't have a safety to stop him and he can usually take those to the house a we saw last season.

I remember '01 when Eddie George was getting shut down and timing was said to be the issue then. After a monster season in 2000 with 403 carries, EG had the toe injury and lost his explosiveness. The OL was getting a lot of the blame then as well. Though they had some problems, Skip Hicks seemed to be able to be productive with that same OL.

It'll be interesting to see if the run game is improved on Sunday.

Yall crack me up worrying about cj! He'll be fine! Lost explosiveness huh???? Hmmm im pretty sure no defensive player will agree with that. And "vince continues to struggle against 3-4 defenses" Im pretty sure he didnt struggle against the broncos d!!!

I agree, I thought he looked pretty good when they let him throw it. I don't think it's "Vince Young struggles against 3-4 defenses" it's "Vince Young struggles against elite defenses"

Look at the third quarter of the Broncos game and tell me the passing game was clicking. Young has those stretches where he's on his game and others he isn't.
