Vince was 2-4 for 12 yards his first 4 passes of the 4th quarter if you want to argue that was effective then fine..

Seriously are you that dense? We had first and 10 at the damn 4 yard line! 4 minutes to go and a 3 point lead. WTF do you expect? Air it out? Empty backfield?

And what is stupid about all this is that on the 2nd of 4 straight running plays we got the damn first down! Just went out of bounds.

Do stats show how stupid it is to run on 3rd and 11 from the red zone? Do stats show that when the run game isn't working but the passing game was that you keep running? Look at Denver. Now I know Maroney is garbage and I think even they tried too run too much but in the end they abandoned the run game and won. We kept clinging to the run game until the end and then it was too late. Denver gives up 22 points a game, our offense scored 13 and you seem to be cool with that fact.

He doesn't care if they have hof credientials if they have a run in with the law, put a whole city on suicide watch after a bad game, or try to undermind the front office with contract demands he doesn't want you on his team which explains his animosity towards Young as well. Think I'm wrong he cut a decent kick returner over a DUI.

It's that kind of attitude from Fisher that has kept this team below where they should be because he's overlooking talent because of questionable character.

 

I just don't think that running the ball 4 straight times from deep inside your territory is bad play calling especially when we did get a first down. Vince had a 3rd and 6 at our 19. If we get that first down we have a good chance to win the game and he didn't. I don't think 3rd and 6 is that impossible.

 

Yes and Eddyc85 also came up with the same moronic conspiracy theory. It's dumb and CJ ran the ball 6 times less than what he has been averaging so maybe this isn't the game to unveil a moronic theory.

Generally, I'd agree with you. But there are two factors at play here that made 4 straight run plays a very bad idea....

1. CJ hadn't been doing ANYTHING all game (2.8ypc). The run game simply was not working.
2. Orton was eating our secondary alive. Just absolutely destroying it. And he was just waiting for another crack at it.

In that situation you have to be aggressive and try to WIN the game. Just having a lead isn't always good enough. Sometimes you need to keep making plays DESPITE possessing a slim lead. This is what Fisher just cannot get through his thick skull for some reason. If he has a lead in the 4th, no matter how small that lead may be, he assumes the game is over and goes into uber-conservative, run the clock out mode. All while giving zero thought to the actual effectiveness (or ineffectiveness) of the running game on that particular day.

It's absolutely infuriating to see this continually happen year after year. Pathetic.
