Do you think that if we mixed in a couple more WR Screens, TE corner curls, and Double-Option receiver rushes that it would open up the middle alot more for CJ, and possibly create more passing lanes midway down the field?

Yes. Especially more HB screens! I think we do MORE screens to Hall than we do to CJ.

Definitely will open things up. The more options our offense has the better. When we shut things down and play safe we limit everything and really good defenses will tear us up.

We have tons of weapons to keep defenses on their heels. Jared Cook seeing field would open things up, also.

Our coaches wont change. They'll chalk it up to playing the Steelers like Fisher used to do when we played the Colts and was asked about why we dont blitz. "You're just not going to get to him, so why try?"...

    Um...

    Yes and no.

I think we should definitely use more WR screens!

What do you mean by a corner curl? I think the titans offense is trying to evolve to a big play passing attack based on 8 men in the box to stop CJ and use going deep with GO routes, Posts or Corner routes with our WR's. It's a far cry from the days when it was EG for 2 downs and then a short completion to Wycheck for the first down and our WR's did more blocking than anything else. I do think the Titans either need to feature the TE more in their offense or stop investing so much in the position (several 3rd rnd picks and higher).

Double option WR runs? Absolutely NOT!!! We're trying to go forwards, not backwards! I don't know how a double option WR run would help open up the middle of the field or passing lanes downfield...

They need to do what the Saints do...have a variety of ways of attacking your defense but especially be able to get a mismatch on the defense with your better players. The Saints could beat you with Schockey, Colston, Henderson, Bush, Moore...

Our formula is pretty much CJ, the passing game for the occasional big play and a strong defense and an excellent FG kicker. When I see Harrison able to cover CJ, it shows me we are not being creative and attacking the mismatches the D is giving us. CJ should be exposing Harrison. Instead, we have CJ running patterns in which Harrison CAN cover him. So instead of creating a win for us with our best player vs their...we are letting there best player nullify ours!!!

And BTW, I like the FB screen. It is VERY effective for a nice gain. It's very hard for us to throw a screen to CJ as teams have someone (LB or S) covering CJ one v one most of the time and there are usually 8men in the box. The biggest things we need are better OL play and more creativity on offense to create more matchup nightmares for teams.

yeah it has been pretty obvious that fish face will not change his gameplan no matter how spectacularly it is failing. He will chuck players under the bus, except when he needs too then his loyalty borders on the insane.

What in the hell are you talking about?

What player got thrown under the bus?

Insane? Judging a coach based on one game is insane..

1: Chris Johnson was used as if he was a 260lb battering ram.

Not intelligent and risking his star play getting hurt like he was against the Ratbirds in 08.
He should be used to create mismatches elswhere when we face a Defence like the Steelers.
The occasional long throw 'because they're expecting a run' is not an effective way to create mismatches.
Asking him to block the blindside without any help.He 's a decent player in protection but against a swarming 3-4 it's a big ask.

2: Vince Young was asked to stay in pocket and make reads. He clearly wasn't able to.
Again mismatches and lack of an effective game plan sold him out.

3:Sending in Kerry Collins with the exact same scheme but a QB who could make quicker reads was not an intelligent adjustment. It showed a complete lack of creativity.

    4: Kenny Britt.Nate Washington,Justin Gage.

When we couldn't get any running game going they were pressed into blocking rather than receivinng more than ever.

Pathetic scheme often makes me wonder why we even have WR's on the roster.

    5: The entire O line.
Asking 5 men and a TE to work miracles againg 8 defenders on 75% of the plays does them no favours.

Fisher is being judged on the 248 games that he's coached over 17 seasons.

The Steelers self destruction is just one in a line of many.
    2009 59 Pats 0 Titans
    2008 34 Jets 13 Titans

The Jets game still burns. The supposedly unstoppable Titans were emabarrassed at home when at the top of their game.

Fisher has flaws. We're only asking him to change a little. If he can't then many of us would like him to go some place else.

It's not a reactionary witchunt it, stems from years of frustration. The most frustrating thing of all is that he build teams that seem to be on the cusp of greatness but when it counts they lay eggs.

I agree!.... you flash Jared Cook in the play on either a fake screen or actual screen, Jared could keep the defense guessing!
