1.Of course he doesn't know what to do with a Manning caliber QB. He's never had one.
Fisher lets the players be themselves. He doesn't tell Vince to Stop Running the ball. How does he stifle the players?

He gets ripped for his lack of creativity. Who else runs option plays in the NFL on a more frequent basis than Fisher? He doesn't have stupid plays like the ones the Raiders tried to pull. Is that what we're looking for?
Fisher knows his players. When you have an MVP at running back, and a QB who is off and on, you run the ball. When Vince is on fire, you let him pass (like last week)

If Fisher had Manning, you'd better believe he'd let him be himself. I personally believe that Fisher would have helped out Manning more with some sort of running game. And The Titans always have a good OL, thanks to Munchak. You wouldn't have those games where the Pats molest Manning the whole game. And the head coach is generally responsible for his selection of assistants like Munch and Washburn.

2.Manning in the past 10 years could make nearly any coach look like a genius. If Dungy were our coach for the years he were in Indy. He would have 0 super bowls, and he would be forgotten by now. Take out Manning for a few games, put Sorgi in, and see how great of a coach Dungy is. Fisher has taken teams that were not good, and made them serviceable.
Take out one player from Dungy's team, and you have a 2-14 team. Ask any Colts fan.

Bill Polian is the luckiest man alive. He hit on a few draft picks (Freeney, Manning, Mathis, Bob Sanders to a lesser extent) and he's golden. We'll see how long he lasts after Manning leaves. They have no defense, and not even a semblance of an offensive line, therefore no running game.

PS. I think Reinfeldt has done a great Job at GM. Everybody has their misses, but he has put together a sound team at this point. Bringing in Griffin, Hope, Vandenbosch, Witherspoon, Bironas, Washington, Finnegan, all of our current D-line and O-line, and Johnson, all for chicken feed as far as money goes. He's done well. He didn't bend on Haynesworth when his value was bloated.Seeing when we had high picks, we haven't really whiffed terribly yet. Vince isn't a hall of famer, but he has been the best of those top picks in the '06 draft for sure, IMO

I don't think this argument works because Dungy was already proven as a good head coach with his accomplishments at Tampa.

I think we're going to win this game pretty handily. And I think our defense is what will really shine. If we can get the same kind of pressure we got last week on Jason Campbell then ole Dennis Dixon is going to have a long night. I don't feel like their OLine has a prayer. If Vince Johnson can do what they do, this should be an pretty one sided game. And if we do in fact win this game, we'll be in damn good shape heading out on our first road trip

Yeah, but then you get into the whole argument about whether it was Dungy that deserves all the acclaim or if it was really Kiffin that made those teams successful. Look what happened when Gruden replaced Dungy. Better results.

I know this probably isn't the place for this, but i was checking out Steelers.com and found this little tidbit. Seems like he's trying to hype us up..lol:

for th'e Titans yet? Can't wait for this game to start , just about everyone is picking us to lose...acting like the Titans are one of the best teams in the league.

They let Mcfadden run all over them. They have no Dline. Secondary is good, but does it really matter anyways with Dixon at QB? He would make a bad secondary look good..so you game plan around it. Mendy should light them up. Dixon should be able to take off alot..picking up big chunks( I will be (bad word)ed if they either hold him back from doing this or he just doesnt want to). And Heath/Hines should be able to expose the middle. We will be fine on offense. If that is the gameplan. Making Dixon stand back there like he did against the Falcons will fail miserably if they try that BS again.

CB Cortland Finnegan: 'If we get an interception I'm gonna go find (Steelers WR) Hines Ward. Somebody has got to tattoo him because you know he's looking for somebody.'

I love that matchup...gonna be some extracurricular with that one.

Chris Johnson was asked about his 12 game 100 yard streak coming to an end on Sunday..he said ' It'll be 13 ' . We'll see about that.

I guarantee we win Sunday. Sick of hearing about the Titans

Kind of like Phil Jackson in a way. Is he really a great coach, or is because he had Jordan and Kobe?

Well either way, to say Dungy isn't good is to take any and all credit and give it to someone else. But the records don't lie, and I think he's a far better coach than Fisher. He's certainly been more successful.

Also Dungy was 54-42 with the Bucs; Gruden was 57-55, so Dungy has a slight edge there.

I'd also add, Fisher has gotten and deserved credit for the years when Oilers were moving to Titantown. I think in a somewhat similar way, Dungy deserves credit for making the Bucs a real team. Before he took them to the playoffs in 1997, they hadn't been since 1982. (I'm sure dbc would credit the salary cap though)

stupid stoolers. Yes if you JUST look at the stats it does appear that McFadden had a solid day, but for all of us who watched the game the Titans used the Oakland O to get the game over quicker. I hate watching it but it is an excellent strategy when done properly. McFadden "hurt" the Titans when the game was no longer in doubt.

If Tennessee did not let up after getting the 31 it could have been Bilicheat ugly for the Gayderzz

Wha? You and dbc are on about coaches - I'm not. Replace Collins with Peyton in 08.. ring. Put Peyton on any number of recent Ravens, Steelers or Cowboys teams.. ring. I'm talking more about surrounding cast..
