Finnegan and Jones being hurt certainly didn't help.

Remember the 2007 seasons and how bad we did without him? I know we started out 6-2, then dropped 4/6 games after that, I believe. The only memorable time we did absolutely fine without him was the Steelers game in '08. He was our most important player from '07-'08.

Plus, you have the loss of Schwartz who was our DC for 8 seasons. I didn't think losing him would hurt us too bad. I figured Cecil's new style would make up for Schwartz' weaknesses. Losing Schwartz obviously hurt.

Everyone has injures and 2 guys missing some games isn't THAT bad. It's not like we had 4 or 5 guys on IR. Compared to some teams we were really healthy.

And yea Haynesworth is a good player but he's only a great player in contract years and we knew he was leaving, it wasn't a shock. Fisher had all off season to plan on not having him.

Yes and they played without their defensive player of the year, Bob Sanders and had to use 2 rookie Wrs because Gonzales missed basically the whole season.

The Colts win despite things like that because of Manning and the fact they draft well.

I don't know why we start so terrible sometimes but it is fair to give Fisher much of that blame. That is a weak point for him.

You already made it clear in a prior thread. You stated that you would rather see the Titans have 8 out of 10 good years but NEVER winning a Superbowl, than only having 2 out of 10 good years but coming away with a Lombardi Trophy.

So what we want from the franchise is in total contradiction and there is no need to debate it. I want to see the franchise as the best in the NFL once, even at the cost of being awful the majority of seasons. You would rather see the Titans as consistently above average, at the cost of never winning a championship.

The only thing I'm curious about, will you still be a Titans fan when Fisher is gone?

OMG, you have to make excuses for 59-0 beatdowns to defend Fisher now???

I don't care what players were missing, 59-0 is inexcusable and its laughable you would even bring up missing players.

It's clear NO ONE cared about that game except CJ, the entire team wasn't ready, and that is all on Fisher.

And then our owner had to intervene so we'd have the better QB starting the rest of the season.

Exactly. Colts defense started two rookie CBs and never missed a beat. Certainly never got 59 points hung on them. The injuries excuse for last season's failure is garbage. Was it a factor? Of course. But the dropoff from 13-3 best record in the league to 8-8 and missing the playoffs (and ESPECIALLY the 0-6 start) can't simply be attributed to injuries and losing Albert. Fisher is responsible for his players and the team he puts on the field, as well as his coaching staff. His secondary was horrible. His return game was horrible. His DC was horrible. His team in general looked largely lethargic and not ready for the first 6 games of the season. As HC, all that stuff ultimately falls on Fisher's shoulders.

The flaw in your comment is that VY has a better winning % than his head coach (4 years is large enough of a sample size), so he has helped Fisher's record. This isn't about Vince. This is about Fisher's inability take his teams to the top, and he hasn't gotten it done. Plain and simple.
