The punch I was referring to with the guy wearing a helmet was yesterdays punch.

I love Blount. And i love the response fisher gave the press and shut down this non story before it could catch any fire.:grrhee:

There is one thing i cant stand, that is media and fans who and moan because any nfl player gets into fisticuffs. A friend of mine argued that this is in part racism. And i cant help but wonder about these ridiculously blown up stories that almost always seem to involve nfl players or nba players.

Seriously, think about it, when hockey players get into fights, with serious punches thrown multiple times, you will see espn talking idiots giggling and laughing about the fight like "its boys being boys", you dont see any one getting on a pedastal talking about how they should be suspended, or calling them thugs, or immature and that children seeing said fight will now be doomed to become violent adults that throw punches because some one farted! When a fight breaks out in football oh well, then the whole world will come to an end, fine the player, kick him out of the league seriously folks i cant stand the soft nation these idiots are turning us into.

And what is sad about it is that adults who actually pay for espn (knowing full well that espn is devoted to bringing to your living room and your children 50 replays of an incident they themselves claim to be injurious to your child's development) buy this crap and run with it!

I dont wanna get too much into this topic because one of these days i want to start a thread encompassing the sad and pathetic direction espn and other sports entertainment outlets have turned sports and sports news into.

It's hardly racism. Jason Jones and Dave Stewart got into it today and no one cared. The only reason it was an issue with Blount was because of his past.

Fighting is a part of hockey. Guys get into fights then sit in timeout for 5 minutes. If you throw punch on an NFL field or NBA court you're ejected and most likely suspended.

Jesse, I would like to see Fisher place Blount on the fifty. Get maybe ten guys off the defense to get behind him in a circle, and play musical chairs, except when the music stops, whoever is closest gets to hit Blount from behind. When Blount gets back on his feet, he should have to turn around and shake the guys hand and tell them good hit.
If he can survive this without an incident of fisticuffs, then he can then be considered to make the team if the rest of his performance is satisfactory.

What do you think, would it work? Or would some defensive player get embarrassed by getting a mud hole stomped in his behind?

They might start showing this on pay per view.

At first, I thought this was way overblown. However, after seeing the footage, I'm a little disturbed by this. That was a real punch! I don't think he held back at all and from the looks of it, he would've done it whether he had a helmet on or not.

Anyway, it's football right? Training camp fights happen all the time right? But how many times do guys sucker punch the opposing team's players after a game in college? Then, how many of those that do say they learned their lesson and then punch their own team mates on training camp?

It's just kind of hard for me to imagine that after that kind of incident, that if you had truly learned from the mistake, that you would do something like this. I don't think he should be cut but GET THIS KID SOME THERAPY! He's an Albert Haynesworth waiting to happen.

Um all news out lets did say it was a punch, why would you be surprised because it was apparently "real"? After seeing him knock the out of that boise state player did you think that Blount throws girlie punches or some sissy in a slappy fight?

Seriously, from your post should we infer that you think that a this fight like a girl type punch is what would have been acceptable to you?

um... that would be Mr Blount... This is the kind of exaggerated nonsense i am talking about! People who love to blow things out of proportion and this is a good example. So are you implying that its only wrong to punch some one after the game? Its apparently ok to do it during the game like our own courtland finnegan or a bunch of other players have done in practically every season since the titans have been here? do you really watch any of the titans games. I also love how you exaggerate the boise state fight and make it sound like this was some grown man beating up on some little girl and taking her ice cream. The truth is that blount punched the crap out of some idiot who got in his face because he is a poor sportsman that doesnt know how to win gracefully! I may be alone in this, but in my opinion if you get that close to a guy as big as blount, get in his face and give him grief even after you have won, you deserve what ever is coming to you!!

BLOUNT DID NOT "SUCKER" PUNCH ANYONE!!! HE STOOD UP STRAIGHT AND KNOCKED THE CRAP OUT OF THAT DOOFUS!!!

to sucker punch some one means to hit them when they are not looking or squared up with you.

What is the exact logic behind your argument.

It is hypocritical of any titans fan to criticize blount for that training camp incident. If you dont like it, for christ sake find another sport to watch!!!

You dont have to punish yourself by watching violent titans like Blount and finnegan every sunday!!! Its entertainment, its a personal choice you make no one forces you!!! If people like blount are too violent for you football isnt your sport. Find something else (that would be a more practical and achievable option than wasting your time hoping blount will be sitting infront of some shrink's couch so some tennessee fan with tender emotions and the apparent inability to properly select his forms of entertainment can feel good about themselves

Ok, you have a guy who lost his temper, punched an opposing player and went after fans. He gets kicked off his own team and is basically the bone head of college football. I think it's logical for us to assume that he's going learn from that and not commit anything even close to what got him in the place he's in now (undrafted free agent). You can't deny that the guy is on thin ice. I just don't see how you can defend this? Yeah, the guy had a helmet on. Yeah it was training camp. But this is the one guy that should not be punching people!!!!!!! I guess it'd be ok if AH stomped someone in practice without cleats on. We wouldn't want to blow something like that out of proportion.

I'm not asking for Blount to be kicked off the team. But I am questioning his character. Again, I realize that this kind of thing isn't uncommon but most sane/rational people learn from their mistakes.

I love how you use the fact that football is a physical sport to condone fighting. I don't know if you noticed, but no one punched Blount. I see plenty of physical competition but I don't see anybody throwing punches. I mean seriously, you group Blount in with Finnegan???? Come on...

As far as my interpretation of the punch, I just imagined it being more like an actual scuffle with more like a hit/shove to the face. I don't see how that is relevant at all though. Also, I didn't mean to imply anything about the Boise incident. However, did it look to you like that guy was prepared to take a punch? I don't think so. Stop kidding yourself. I really don't get why you're being so defensive of this guy. He doesn't need your defense obviously.

Meh, I'm not worried about this until it happens in the regular season during a regular game - or, hell, practice the week before.

It's Preseason... fights seem to ALWAYS happen. Granted this wasn't really much of a fight. So, big deal for now.
