Choosing VY was the opposite of the point you're trying to make. Seriously, what one move would make a bigger difference in our team than substituting VY for a Brees or Manning?!

How do you substitute Brees or Manning for our QBs? Ask for a trade? That's my whole point it's easy to win games with those guys.

In 2006 we drafted a franchise QB. A clueless poster said we had no backup plan for when Mcnair got older. We did his name is Vince Young. There was no Qb in the entire damn 2006 draft that is Drew Brees caliber. None. We drafted the guy we thought best and Fisher did not draft Young Bud Adams basically drafted him so how does that make Fisher a dumb coach?

In a previous post on another board i posted a stat regarding all the super bowl winning teams this decade. The average ranking in pass attempts for those 10 champion teams was 17th.

Throwing the ball all over the damn place is NOT the way to win championships! The Saints were 7th in rushing attempts and 6th in rushing yardage this year. They ranked higher in rush attempts 7th than in passing attempts.

McNair was far from an "average" QB. It's funny how teams with not-so-great QBs can win playoff games, yet somehow Fisher's can't ... at least not for the past 6 years.

I've given up on the idea that this organization will get a free agent that people will actually remember their last name and number 10 years after they retire.

Let's be honest, the most successful free agent this organization has picked up in the past 5 years is none other than Kerry Collins. His "success" was actually a superbowl catastrophe 10 years ago!

We only pick up guys that other teams have given up on who will work for NFL minimum wage. This is a team that has committed itself to paying one of the most prolific running backs in NFL history 370k a year.

This team often rolls the dice that often craps out, but occasionally, we get players than can be coached up and every few years or so, we have a good team that makes the playoffs but loses because they are either victims of bad luck, inexperience, or both.

That's a bit misleading. The Saints had a decent running game despite their RB by committee approach, but they mainly used it to milk the clock and punch through the goal line while in the redzone. They were after all, by far the top scoring team in the league. That offense runs off of Brees's arm. To suggest otherwise is disingenuous.

IMO what happened in the past isn't as relevant as it used to be. It's obvious that the game is becoming more pass oriented with all the rule changes. And teams can win games without a great passing game. It's just more likely they will get creamed by teams that do have a great passing game.
