The entire "conference" argument is silly. Of course the south is going to be loaded - it's the way of the country. Old cities of northern industry are dying and everyone is moving south. Are all SEC players true multi-generational southerners? I think not.. Conference gloating is stupid when it seems only one conference has fans and the rest are team-related..

I remember a day when nobody wanted to ever play Nebraska, Miami, Notre Dame, Florida State and even Tennessee and playing Alabama or LSU was no big deal. That's how college football is cyclical.

And you're happy about that? Basically you're happy with being the worst of the best. I'd much rather have people like you mock the Big 10 and have your team play for a meaningless bowl trophy whereas my team seems to be BCS bound every year. Does OSU play the toughest regular season schedule? No. Did we just win a Rose Bowl? Yes, so do I care about schedule? No.

    You don't understand conference pride?

It's pretty simple: since most SEC teams suck (UT, Alabama for the past umpteen years excluding the Colt McCoy gift, Auburn, Vandy, Ole Miss, etc etc etc...) other than Florida (lately), they have to ride the conference coat-tails.

Kind of like if you're the untalented kid in a family of all-stars... you ride the family name, even though you contribute nothing to it.

SEC teams have the best recruits in their back yards. For them not to be far more dominant than they actually are is pretty inexcusable.

Well, the news is that Nebraska, Syracuse, Pitt, Rutgers and Missouri will all join the Big 10 now.

So much for your draft record. Although now it's by default and doesn't truly count...

but hey, neither does Alabama's championship- so I'll take it!

SEC is the best. Roll Tide! Hey Deuce, I know since your a Mich. fan and you don't know how football is really played but Bama did when the National Championship. It's not our fault McCoy hurt his shoulder in the biggest game of the year. Our defense dominated the season, Ingram won the Heisman, Saban is the best recruiter, McElroy was good, Julio Jones is the best WR, and our OL doesn't skip a beat. Our back ups could beat most teams out there. When you look at the SEC it's only going to get better.

Bama- defending champs, not going anywhere
UF- a ton of talent, they lose Tebow but still loaded
Auburn- on the rise, Newton will be a good QB and starting to get depth
Arkansas- Mallett is a heisman candidate
LSU- always lurking in the SEC
UGA- some how always puts a good team on the field

So yeah we're still the best and will be for many years. USC is downhill, nobody is scared of OSU, they need to rename the big east cause it's not that big, and the ACC is a joke. Big 12 is 2nd best but obviously not at the level of the SEC. Needs to be renamed the Big 2.

A team that goes at least 7-5 in the SEC could probably be in any other conference title game.

LSU is garbage. Saying that could run with any of the top teams in a conference is just plain ignorant. PSU beat them pretty much on LSU's home field (Yes, I know it wasn't in Baton Rouge but Orlando is close to LSU than it is to State College). Say what you want about that game but PSU dominated that game from the opening kick off.

I'll add this in here too. PSU in the past bowl games against SEC teams 9-5 against them. Here's the Link.

After being bailed out by refs in several games vs average opponents- they almost were beaten by some scrub kid right out of high school- and had he started throwing earlier- he certainly would have beaten them.

Overrated and *Champions with an asterisk. They'll have to do it again to make the Nation believe in them.

How is the Big 12 not at the level of the SEC? I can do exactly what you did:

Florida- no one cares now that Tebow's gone.
Alabama - lucked their way to a title, but were never convincing the entire year.
Tennessee - they were bad, but now they're going to be Dooley bad.
    Arkansas - done.
    Auburn - done.
LSU - meh... may have a little gas in the tank.
    South Carolina - ha.
    Vanderbilt - double ha.
    Georgia - Irrelevant.
    Ole Miss - ha.

Actually... outside of Alabama, who does the SEC have left now? And Texas proved they were better than them in the NC game.

No one fears OSU? I couldn't care less, but they're ranked 3rd in the Nation.

If it weren't for the SEC hype machine, they'd only have 1 team in the top 25 this year.

Big 12 had prospects such as Bradford, Bryant, Gresham, Okung, Suh, and Mccoy and all their at the top of their class. I don't see any domination in that.
