a re-booting of spider-man? is this another installment of the tobey macguire saga or someone else's project?

seems like it's a little early for a "re-booting" of that franchise.

Tobey is out too. It isn't really 'Spider-Man 4' anymore. It's going to be a complete reboot of the franchise. Supposedly will be based on the "Ultimate Spider-Man" world (comic book nerds will know what I'm talking about) with Peter Parker in high school. Pretty lame IMO but I'll definitely give it a chance.

I agree it's too early for a reboot but there were disagreements between Raimi and the studio over the script. As much as I loved the movies, I trust Raimi. If he hated the script enough to quit over it, then I'm glad it's not happening.

It's actually not unheard of to announce mega-blockbusters like this a few years in advance. But don't be surprised if the date changes (a few times) between now and then.

Whatever that Spiderman movie y'all are talking about is... well, it's going to suck.

Spiderman 3... Wow. What a worthless movie. Nothing about that movie was good. I lol'd hard when Tobey Maguire was cruising down the sidewalk, emo style.

Considering the first two Spiderman movies were actually pretty solid, it's sort of pathetic to see the 3rd one suck so bad. The 4th could only get worse.

yeah, you pretty much took every word right out of my mouth. sam raimi should have stopped after spider-man 2 if spidey 3 was the best he could do with what the studio gave him.

emo spider-man= the second funniest thing in the movie, right behind bruce campbell's cameo as the maitre d'

I didn't think 3 was horrible or anything but it was pretty bad in comparison to the other two. Shame too, as Sandman and Venom are two of the coolest Spider-Man villains. It's main problem (besides the emo scene) was that it just had too much going on. They should've stuck to just one villain in that one. Venom is a much too classic and popular character to be playing second fiddle to Sandman.

I absolutely agree. There is so much to the Spidey-Venom saga that they could do an entire series of movies just based on that. I also didn't like Topher Grace as Venom. I like really like Topher (all the way back to That 70s Show), but he doesn't really fit what Venom is supposed to be. So I'm looking forward to a reboot of the series myself.

I'm over Spiderman, it's all about Iron Man and Thor.
