    not a hater; a realist.
keep toting the company line ; rah rah we got a mediocre DE, woohoo.
if you think Morgan is a better talent than Bryant; you're an idiot.

Dude, you need to chill out. You can't always draft an immediate difference maker with your first round pick. Mario Williams had 4.5 sacks in his first season. Remember big Al in his first season? Not that impressive. You draft for your future and if you can get an immediate impact in year one fine. What player at DE would have made an immediate impact? Maybe we could have gotten a corner that made an immediate impact, but the CB's available might not work out year one like you seem to expect of a first round pick. I might have traded the pick for Big Al, but the front office guys are obviously thinking a bit more long term. What if tomorrow we get Al for a third . . . then they look like geniuses. You play hard ball for a reason man. Picks have value, and that is why teams don't just give them away willy nilly.

Bottom line, I think you are demanding too much from a first round pick. At times they are able to contribute immediately, but not always. That does not mean they are a wasted pick or a mistake. Who knows, maybe he does step in right away . . . most "experts" see him as the DE most ready to play now.

When will people learn that with the draft patience is the best response.

I'll admit I'm hot right now; steaming hot. How do we pass on Bryant? or How do we not trade down and get picks like some of the other teams? or
How do we not get Haynesworth back?
I agree draft with an eye to the future; in 2 years is our WR corps going to look the same? How long does it take for a WR to come into his own in the league? 3 years right?
Bryant could possibly have made a huge difference impact immediately and 3 years down the road. Morgan average. I'm not saying he'll be horrible, but he isn't going to take over any games now or in 3 years.

Character problems. He's a thug. We don't like thugs. We've had bad experiences with thugs on our team.

Lets keep in mind that the same guy that is saying Derrick Morgan wont be any good is the same person who said Tashard Choice would be better than Chris Johnson.

The fact is nobody knows what he's going to do in the pros. If he's a sold player who gets about 6-10 sacks every year and is good against the run than I think we'd all take that and if he's a bust well it happens we'll get over it, besides the draft isn't 1 round, we have more picks to come. If I were GM I would have taken either Morgan or Wilson at that spot so I can't say I'm disappointed with the pick at all since I probably would have done the same.

Besides at least everyone hear has heard of Derrick Morgan, has anyone heard of the guy Jacksonville picked until his name was called?

How does lying about meeting with Deion Sanders make him a thug? Explain how he's a thug.

The other day I posted that I have started to hate this board, well this thread and today has brought me back. I am very happy to see that MOST of the fans on here realize that we just picked up a top 10 guy at number 16, that is a good draft. I expected to log on and hear everyone complain we didn't do something flashy.

My first beer tonight will be in dedication to the NY football Giants. I will cheer for them all season except against us. I went crazy when they took JPP(IMHO an over hyped BB player who runs all over the field and over pursues but yet doesn't run guys down, a guy with explosive speed but not explosive strength) Thanks Giants.

I have to feel so far in the draft we are sitting with Dallas(who got a steal, wish he would have FIT on our team needs) as the two teams who got the best value out of their picks. I would love to see us score Chaney,Watson or Spikes in the 3rd.

(I think Terrance Cody is worth going after in the 2nd round, just for value)
