iPad, iTablet or whatever it shall be called

    Does the iPad have the pinch-zoom like Mac laptops? That would be very useful for the vision-impaired..

    Yes. It acts just like an iphone in terms of zooming. Double tap and zooms, and pinch-zoom.

    One review said it's only good for typing short emails, etc, because the onscreen keyboard doesn't always work on touch. How easy do you find the keyboard to use?

    I have had no issues and have typed some fairly long emails so no idea what they are seeing. The more I use it, the more I love it. And I have been as skeptical as they come.

    Yes, and the pinch zoom and expand works very smoothly.

    I hope I don't sound like an apple homer, just more impressed than I thought I would be.

    Guy at work is heading out to NAB to do some classes and he created his powerpoint presentation on the iPad and hooking it up to a second monitor for his presentation in Vegas. I'm pretty impressed with the iPad. Probably won't get one until they add a usb input, but they are on the right track.

    How is anyone getting any media which isn't purchased through Apple to their iPad if no usb? I'm guessing you could up to a remote server and download but that's a bit of a pain.

    Alan, how the internet without flash working out?

    Jeff, I don't know about the media thing...I will be purchasing the Cucusoft program for iPad to allow me to convert and upload any DVDs, just like the version I used for my iPod Touch.

    I know there are a couple of apps that allow you to sync info from the iPad to a directory on your laptop wirelessly....but cannot remember what that is.

    I honestly have yet to visit any site where I have noticed things missing due to the Flash incompatibility. Maybe I just don't frequent many of them I don't know.

    The flash thing doesn't bother me. I honestly think it will be phased out. It is such a hog...
