    Me!

As I mentioned half a dozen pages ago, I've had both, and will stick with PCs from now on.

Oh yeah, that great Apple store, for great help... wait, they either do something that I could do/did already at home, or they say they'll have to send it off for a minimum $300 without even telling you what is wrong! Also, you have to make an appointment because they're so busy. Clearly, no one needs help with their Macs, because they "just work."

Neither side is perfect, or really even that good. However, I'm not doing anything hard core, so there's NO reason for me to spend the money on a Mac.

I'm getting a netbook to just lug around so I can kill time on the internet, message boards/social networking etc. I can get a PC with Windows 7 (or Ubuntu) in the 300 dollar range.
Is it worth getting a Macbook instead for a thousand bucks?

Not if you are not used to using Macs and are just using it to "kill time."

there isn't going to be any cameras on the Rev.A iPad (among many other notable and usable functions).
unless you want a glorified E-Reader, I wouldn't even consider an iPad

as long as you are aware of the limitations of a netbook, go for it

as a side note, if you want a netbook and want to work in OSX, there are several models of netbooks that can be hacked fairly easily to run OSX. the Dell Mini is one of the more popular devices that run it well

let me find you a list ........ (a little dated)
