The character issue is a legit reason to be concerned about dunlap and his work ethic. If they determine he is willing to work hard than it is hard to pass on him as a player.

There is no Kearse or Freeney type speed guy in this draft but there are guys who are good athletes with good size.

Griffen's numbers were no better than Dunlap's this year and neither were Pierre-Paul's. Both are good prospects though.

While dunlap has that boom or bust quality and has some concerns there is no End with the ultimate potential that he has.

We will see how the workouts go.

Jerry Hughes TCU will be the best "speed" guy from this draft. Everyone says he will play OLB but I see a guy that can get after the QB and hold his own against the run.

I was real high up on Hughes but I hope we get B. Graham after looking at all his highlights and senior bowl performance that guy is a beast and I think he will come in a put double digit sack numbers first year with us. J Hughes does look fast as hell and if for some reason we couldn't land Graham at our current position I hope we trade down and get a second and snatch him cause I believe he will be good also but in my opinion Graham is the best DE coming out.

I'm not sure I see Dunlap as a boom or bust. I think he will at least be a decent player as long as he doesn't pull a Pacman or something. His physical ability is off the charts and he simply needs to develop better technique. He isn't exactly a fat arse type who would not stay in decent shape. He just needs to learn how to use his massive physical skills like AH did.

Im gonna go with a NO, "character issue concerns" just scream at me Pacman again, and I dont want that.

Dunlap, great athlete and player, but has concerns that really stick out.....especially after the Pacman episode.

RollTide seems to be the only one who likes this dude at all.

Mike Mayock, the only draft "expert" who ever seems to get anything close to right, came out and trashed Dunlap today. He said he has him behind Pierre-Paul, Morgan and Graham.

Mayock: “I don’t like Carlos Dunlap, but someone will take him high.”

“There’s too much bad tape on him.”

I don't like Dunlap at all either, but for what it's worth Mike Mayock has Gerald McCoy ahead of Suh, and Earl Thomas ahead of Eric Berry.

I'm usually a Mayock fan but some of his rankings this year confuse me.

Mayock is willing to take more risks than Kiper and will totally get behind a guy or against a guy.

Here is an interesting Mayock quote..
He used John Elway and Jamarcus Russell in the same sentence yikes.

But honestly that is what we want with these guys for them to have strong opinions from time to time not to just make a list that coincides with everyone else.

As for Dunlap i'm not sure i see the pacman comparison at all. He had one DUI. The main issue with him is if he is willing to work hard enough to reach his full potential which is substantial. Can Washburn light a fire under him? Will he work hard in the weight room to become a real beast.

I'm willing to take a chance on that potential but i don't have the opportunity to interview him and watch how he handles himself at workouts.
