Like an ability to work without crashes or freezes. PCs cost me boatloads of downtime, along with their stupid THIS PROGRAM HAS PERFORMED AN ILLEGAL OPERATION AND WILL BE SHUT DOWN crap. Never had downtime trouble with Mac's OS.

    But again...

Since when do PCs crash much beyond the year 2000? Unless you're scoping out some freaky clown on midget porn sites and getting infected by some nasty stuff, I wouldn't think that's a current issue.

It's the go-to response to justify overpaying for a mac, but it hasn't been legit for about 10 years now.

True, the warnings stopped when I got XP Pro, though the crashes didn't.

I'm not computer illiterate, nor an irresponsible user (unless you count answering this thread). My PC experiences have all been BAD, and PC users I know think that's NORMAL and I don't think it is. I think it's insane to keep tolerating a failed system just because you can save a few bucks.

Now, maybe W7 will get it right for once; seems to be doing okay. It's still the biggest security risk in the industry. I can understand pplz lovin it cuz ur gamerz lol!!!1!!!!, but I'm not a gamer. I don't like the way it's file system works, it's need for defragging and habit of misplacing bits, and I don't like the fact that every working process takes ten more steps than it needs to, or that drivers have to be downloaded for everything (often charged) and nothing works out of the box.

Bottom line, all the objections that PC people have been presenting to me are wrong, not my experience, and I'm pretty certain often made up just because they like arguing or saying things like "Definitely sounds like PEBKAC to me." I've never heard of anyone who made the switch and regretted it, or didn't see what a failed system Windows was (unless you'd like to make a bar graph or something). My opinion is based upon actual experience and repeated real-life comparisons, and not by gathering together with a bunch of L33thead gamers and talking about how cool my Alienware machine is.

You get what you pay for.
    Macs are worth the money.
    I'm right, you're wrong.
    End of story.

There must be some reason why PC spends so much time trying to be just like Mac these days...

And worth every penny. You can buy a $200 samsung monitor and use it for your Mac, but the Apple monitors are pro grade and not comparable to those you find at Best Buy or Office Depot. Not many people need an Apple monitor. Then again, not many need a Mac Pro.

OP - A Macbook will be all that you need. I use my 3 year old macbook for photo and video editing, and it works flawlessly.

Gloat - Why don't you use a Mac before you bash them instead of blabbing anecdotes about you're sister or this guy you know? Macs are made for what you like to do. I have a feeling that if you sat down with one outfitted with CS3/CS4, Aperture, and Final Cut Studio you'd have a hard time disliking it.
