So again, I ask... Who's the best QB in the league THIS YEAR?

Drew Brees was 32 of 39 for 288 yards, 2 TDs no ints posting a 114 qb rating in the biggest game of his life.

Peyton Manning was 31 of 45 for 333 yards, 1 TD and 1 int in his 2nd Super Bowl appearance.

Better yet? When the game was on the line which stepped up and which performed their usual clutch time implosion? Yet next year we'll still hear about how Manning is the best QB in the league. We'll still hear how "you don't want the ball in his hands inside 2 minutes with the game on the line" even if history tells us otherwise.

Dan Marino is back. And you all can suck it for arguing with me the first time. Drew Brees has 1 Super Bowl trophy in 9 seasons. Manning has 1 Super Bowl trophy in 12 seasons. Eli Manning has the same. Tom Brady has 3 in 10 seasons.

Hell, Philip Rivers just might make his case after all...

If I were to vote best QB in the regular season I would have still said Manning. However, even before today Drew Brees was the better playoff QB. Look at the teams the Saints beat and look at the ones the Colts beat.

The Colts are just a recurring example of the same thing: you can't win the big one with a one sided team. You have to have a defense. Their offense is great and all, but in the event they're getting shut down, like they did tonight, then the defense has to step up and get off the field. That didn't happen, and they lost.

I don't think manning has a thing to be ashamed of but drew brees is now the top dog at this time. Hard to imagine he won't be a hall of famer also one day.

Gloat in 1995 would have been bashing john elway for losing 3 super bowls.

We already had this debate. What is to be gained by rehashing it now?

Straw man arguments are fun. Everyone in that thread told you the same thing: Brees has been better in the recent past but his career doesn't stack up to Manning's. He made up some ground last night, but it still doesn't change anything. Brees isn't a top 5 quarterback of all time, Manning is. QB's don't win super bowls. Teams win super bowls.

I knew you would do this. But i still say like before, while manning is great. I would rather have someone like mcnabb or brees as my qb. And yesterday proved why.
