Florida was only 2nd in the SEC to LSU the year Michigan beat them. They were known as the 2nd best SEC team... and that proved correct the next 3 years once LSU was done.

It doesn't really matter, but yeah. :)

Umm, might want to check your facts. In 2007, the year Michigan beat Florida with Tebow, Florida was 5-3 in the SEC, 3rd in the East, 5th overall.

And not that it really matters, but does it hurt when you just pull stuff out of your like that? :)

I was simply addressing the part about national champions. And no you don't need a championship to prove your a good program but you should at least contend. Here's the thing. There's usually 2 SEC teams that can contend for a national championship every year which isn't unusual as most conferences do. The problem is in order for the SEC to make itself look good you have to pull up teams out of the past. Sure Auburn had a good year a few years back going unbeaten but what have they done since? If you look at the SEC over the past 10 years it's an impressive body of work but on a given year teams that have had great success are only average or below average.

Well how many teams in one conference can actually have great success in a given year? It's not like every team from a conference can go unbeaten or only have one loss. So unless you actually quantify "great success", then that is basically a ridiculous statement.

Florida was the 2nd best SEC team. Understood by all outside the SEC fanbase.

LSU was the only other good SEC team than Florida. UT played in the SEC champ game, but that was a joke and everyone knew it.

Then- the very next year, Florida began their reign. Oh...I guess they just magically became the best by far in the SEC in one offseason after being 5th. lol

You cant possibly be serious. That was the year LSU won the national title, and Georgia beat Hawaii. Many people, including myself, actually thought Georgia was the best team in the country by years end, and Knowshon Moreno ran all over Florida. Sure, you could argue FLorida was better then UT, but UT did finish first in the East and 2nd overall, so you still have to give them the benefit of the doubt. Florida was extremely young on defense after losing I believe either 8, or 9 of 11 defensive starters from the year before. That Florida team will likely be much like next years FLorida team, in that they have talent, but are going to be young. So I really dont know where you are getting your information but your has to be sore by this point by pulling so much stuff out of it.

Georgia was a joke. An overhyped joke, and proved it the following years. Their only claim to greatness was beating Hawaii... a team that looked like highschoolers in size compared to a legit college.

Florida was 2nd best- only because LSU was primed. LSU fell off... look who dominated after. No coincidence.

You cant possibly believe half the stuff that you type, your like the online version of Ann Coulter I believe, and just like to hear yourself talk whether you have a clue what you are talking about or not. What does one year from the next have to do with anything? Do you not think that teams have down years and take a year or so for their young players to get acclimated?

Do you believe USC was top tier team this year? By your logic I have to assume you do, since they were good last year, and will likely be good in the upcoming years. See how stupid that sounds?

It's not unheard of for 3 or 4 teams to have a really good year. Just last year the Big 12 had 2 BCS teams in OU and Texas and two other teams 1 win away from making a BCS game in Missouri and Texas Tech.

Alex, your officially a lost cause. Until you can get your head out of wherever the hell it is you'll never see what I'm trying to say. Why do you take so much pride in seeing two teams who you don't root for beat OSU? And BTW losing to 2 SEC teams doesn't quality as "getting your a s s kicked by the SEC." And to answer your question we did win the Rose Bowl, when's the last time Tennessee won a BCS game? Go ahead I'll wait. It was last century if I recall.
