    Thank you.

Fisher's Titans were in the playoffs just last season, and narrowly missed the playoffs this season (and if not for injuries and a new DC, we probably would be there again). Yet he doesn't mention how Wade's ineptitude as a coach kept the Cowboys out of the playoffs last season.

Ryan and Harbough seem like decent coaches, though it's tough to say. The Jets are only in the playoffs b/c they lucked up and got the Colts and Bengals the last 2 weeks of the season when both teams were playing their back-ups. I don't see how they are any better of a team than they were last season. Harbough inherited one of the top defenses in the league. And just like under Billick, their success is dependent on that great defense. I won't say they're bad coaches, but it isn't like their teams are really any different than what their previous coach left behind.

Raiders, Chiefs, etc. are better by like 1 game in terms of wins, but their teams are still terrible and aren't showing real improvement. Hell Gable is even meeting with Al Davis next few days to discuss his future with the team. Todd Haley is responsible for trading their 2nd round pick for the much overrated Matt Cassel.

This guy is nuts if he thinks either of these teams are better off now than they were a year ago. A "slightly" better record does not equate to a better team. The difference between is 4-12 and 5-11 is minimal.

How is Fisher to blame for not winning in the playoffs last season though? Is it his fault Lendale and Alge can't hold on to the ball? Is his fault CJ got hurt?

And we certainly didn't have "almost the same talent." Big Al was our best defensive player. And we had to replace a very good DC as well.

If not for missed FG's versus the Steelers, we win that game. If not for a BS "TD pass" that the officials obviously missed in the first Texans game, we win that game as well. We were unlucky this year. It happens. The fact that we rebounded and won 8 of our last 10 games says a lot.

How about not blitzing a rookie QB? This is about scheme and that falls at the feet of Fisher.

Yes, 10 of 11 is almost the same talent. Though that one was the cog which made the machine run, there is no excuse for ending the season almost dead last in the league vs. the pass. Fisher has to have a bigger hand in the defensive scheme/play-calling if his pick isn't getting it done. Fisher has to be sure there is enough depth at DB to insure the team doesn't have to start two rookies.

If Fisher puts an experienced returner into the game against the Jets, we win there. There were numerous special teams issues all season long. Fisher isn't to blame for any of it?

It shows the Titans have an owner who will pick up a phone when his team is 0-6 and force the coach to put in another QB.

I agree that the 13-3 season had the Titans catching a lot of breaks. And the opposite held true this season.

I give Fisher credit for holding the team together after a game they totally lacked intensity if he accepts a lot of the blame for the 0-6 start. Add it all up and it says "average" to me which Fisher was this season.

Despite my words here, I am still on the fence with Fisher. I don't believe a good coach loses it in just one season. But there were more blatent screw-ups this season which pointed directly at Fisher being average than ever before.

For the first time, I have serious doubts that his scheme and approach can get it done in January. He seems to need the best DT in the game to keep his defense average and the best RB in the league to win eight games.

Why just look at a coaches hire date? Norv turner and Wade Phillips coached before.

I guess we have to get a specific definition for what constitutes a "new" coach.

    Fisher's playoff record.

Which of the following events were the fault of jeff fisher..

2000 vs Ravens missed 31 yard FG.

2000 vs Ravens blocked 45 yard FG.

2000 vs Ravens blocked FG and return for 90 yard TD.

2000 vs Ravens missed assignment(Rolle or Bishop) gives up a 56 yard pass to shannon sharpe that sets up the ravens only TD. The ravens offense could not drive the field against our defense!

2000 vs Ravens Eddie George bobbled pass results in 50 yard TD int return.

If Rob Bironas was out kicker in that game we win and then run the table and win the super bowl. That's my opinion. Only the Ravens could beat us and only then if we blew it. We blew it! That should have been Jeff Fisher's super bowl year.

We got lucky in 99 but ran the table and made the most of it. We were equally unlucky in 2000. In those 2 seasons we had the #2 team in the entire NFL!

I'll buy into the idea that there is a jinx on the Oiler/Titans franchise before I put all this on Jeff Fisher. I can give you 53 reasons why the team went 8-8... who here wants to dispute that Fisher has taken less than stellar talent and over achieved in the past? You guys need to get positive. Making Fisher your scapegoat will only serve to make you look silly once the Titans finally get it done. We have a qb who appears to have turned the corner and may bud into a legitimate Pro Bowl caliber qb (although it is a crowded field in the AFC)... We have the best running back in football period. We've got a great offensive line. In Britt we have a guy who looks like he could get 1200 yards a season... There's a lot of good aspects. I think we need a LB and a DT. Definitely need a new corner, bust seriously, we're a few draft picks and a free agent or two away from challenging for the division. Honestly, the toughest thing about winning the afcs would be that the Titans would have to outperform the Colts and that is no small task.

And in addition to this..most who want a new coach arent just speaking of this season or last..we're looking at JF entire body of work over the amount of time that he's been here. Where are the results?

I don't see anyone here trying to make Fisher the scapegoat for the 0-6 start as much as state he was a big part of it.

I also think it's time to challenge the mindset that the Titans would be set back for years if he were replaced. I used to feel that was the case and no longer do.

But i am trying to make fisher the scapegoat. Scapegoat afterall means one who should take the blame, doesnt it?

If not fisher to blame for that pathetic special teams performance then who?
If not fisher to blame for fielding a vastly unprepared Qb and sticking with the same failed moron for way too many games then who?
If not fisher to blame for the same pathetic defensive scheme we saw under schwartz then who?
If not fisher to blame for keeping useless morons like Chris henry and donnie nickey on the team for god knows what then who?
If not fisher to blame for failing to evaluate the capabilities of his corner backs and thus failing to acquire a decent back up then who?
If not fisher to blame for forcing an unprepared kid Ryan mouton onto the field to take kick offs in a role he didnt want didnt even play in college, then who?
Seriously who are you gonna blame for cutting your kick off returner then hiring back a few weeks later? then cutting him again and hiring yet another inept buffoon that almost cost us the game vs the Cardinals? Isn't that the epidermy of coaching stupidity and outright ineptness?

honestly i wanna know who i should blame for the 0-6 start when a young and ready Qb was sitting on the bench, every one in the whole world calling for a change and the only moron standing it the way was the coach. That kind of abject stupidity really needs a scapegoat named, tagged, certified, photographed and record in the annals of history as one of the dumbest coaches in football in 2009..

(and we didnt even get to Harper yet or the monumentally stupid decision to send a four man rush 12 games into the season when your pathetic dbs cant cover worth a damn!) ANd Cecil sure as hell aint the one blame for that crap. Its the same crap Fisher has run before Cecil was hired!!!
