Why is it that we follow, ride and die with this Tennessee Titans team? For me, I could easily say that I've been an Oiler since the day I was born and when city of Houston didn't want to help Bud with a new stadium, we picked up and left. I followed right along. Those first years away from Houston were tough but we made it through.

Right now though, I find myself thinking a lot about what makes me such a huge and loyal Titan fan. I am hopeful by our teams new-found love for the game. I am excited to see CJ put on a show knowing that he might take one to the house on any given carry. I like to watch our D bond together again and put personal stats aside for the greater good of the team.

I know that pro and anti-Vince Youngs won't ever see eye to eye or even agree to disagree on him, but still there is something that keeps us coming here and keeps us cheering for our team every week. What is it? Please share your thoughts.

Thanks Jesse. That's my point in this thread. I wonder what is it that keeps us loyal. Coming up 1 yard short was a heartbreaker.

    I Love My Titans.....

I'm just like you, born and raised a Oilers fan, never a cowboy fan for whatever reason. My father would take me to see the Oilers play in the astrodome when i was young fella. that's when i was introduced to them as well as the sport of football...I love this team to death man. So i guess its safe to say i was a fan of theirs before the whole city of Nashville or the state of Tennessee was. :wink2:

Thanks for sharing. I had a lot of time to sit and ponder about the important things in my life and all the things that I am passionate about. Atop the list, my Tennessee Titans.

I remember being in the old AFC Central and hating the Steelers, Browns and Bengals. Now we have Colts, Jags and Texans to mix it up with.

I started asking myself what has kept me with this team for so long. Many say that it was the Houston Oilers football that my dad had given me before he passed away. Many say that it was just because I hate the Cowboys and so I cheered for the Oilers.

I ask myself and still find that I love this team even more than I did as a kid. I appreciate and understand everything about the game now. I am seriously considering getting myself a Titan tattoo and a flamehead tattoo too. D@mn I love this team.

So is everyone seriously too good to participate in my thread? WTF. This thread isn't anti-Kerry, anti-Vince, anti-Fisher, it's pro-Titans.

I would just like to know how everyone on here feels about this team. Please, I don't think that's too much to ask for. I see everybody and their mother's take part in even some of the worst threads.

You and I share the same background it seems. I was born in Houston (still currently live here) and have memories of watching some of the Oilers games before they moved. I cant remember much because I was just a kid, but my family followed them so I stuck with them. Once they moved to Tennessee, I guess I just tagged along.

However, my dad decided to take the way out and wait for another possible team in Houston (cue in the Texans). I always went to games at Reliant with him and remember being the only kid (or person) in my section cheering for "my" Titans. Remember watching whatever games I could of the Titans on TV because they werent broadcasted much down here (just Cowboys games) but I was glued to the television every time they were.

Im only 20 right now, so I didnt really remember much of the Super Bowl year (was 10 at the time) but I got around to watching it again by the time I was 16 where I was old enough to analyze it. I get hate for being a Titans fan right now (even drive around city with a Titans license plate :) ), but I gotta say that I eat, sleep, live, breathe and dream Titans. I swore to myself one day that Id move out of Houston and get a place in the Nashville area (ive been to Nashville a couple times, most recently in January for the playoff game) because of my loyalty and affection toward this franchise.

But thats pretty much it. Good thread, thanks for bringing back some of my roots/memories.

The year 1989 and i was 11 years old in 5th grade, only been in the country for 3 years and i somehow stumbled on the oilers playing the bills in a real high scoring game. Just sorta picked them and stuck with them thru thick and thin. First play i remember was a td to Ernest Givins from Warren Moon, man those were the days. I love this franchise and being in the washington dc area there arent too many of us. I ride and die with these titans, ive never cheated on them even playing madden or tecmo bowl back in the days. Still a fan and always will be, go titans!
