I will give credit where credit is due. He did what was asked of him. If he can do that, we'll be fine. This is coming from a non-Vince fan.

Our defense was not bad man. They gave up two huge plays, that sucks, but they played very well other then that. Lots of short drives for jacksonville, good pressure, and aside from poor tackling on two plays they stopped the run pretty well too.

Vince is our starting QB. How the hell can you call yourself a non-Vince fan and still call yourself a Titans fan? I believe you can shorten that up and just say 'this is coming from a hater'. Anything Vince has done in the past at this point is irrelevant. If he plays well this season, he's gonna be staying. If he sucks, he'll be done.

You don't have to like every player to be a fan of the team.

If I had Jamarcus Russel as my QB, there's no way I'm a fan of him even if I love the Raiders to death.

The bottom line is this, Vince is very athletic and will have moments of glory or a good game from time to time when everything goes his way but he is not and never will be the kind of QB that can take you all the way! Period! If winning a Superbowl is the final destination and ultimate goal we'll never get there with VY. Because unlike a post I've seen here earlier I feel he doesn't have the "IT" factor and never will. You'll see, as soon as we need to rely on him to win a big game for us and things aren't going as scripted he'll crack under the pressure and won't be able to do anything but quit and pout on the sidelines or throw INTs because he can't read defenses and is lacking in character. Can you EVER imagine Peyton Manning or Tom Brady refusing to come back in the game because they got booed? No of course not. They're the kind of leaders that a team can count on when the going gets tough. If you're really a Titans fan and you want to win that all illusive Superbowl I don't see how you can not want to get rid of VY and try to find a REAL franchise QB that we can build around. Otherwise we're just wasting more time and pushing that goal farther into the future.

I could list a whole slew of QBs way better than Vince that never won a superbowl: Dan Marino being one of them. Your argument is strawman and moot.
What you miserably, miserably fail to see is that Vince's 'IT' factor is being a catalyst for the rest of the team. Surely you don't think it was Fisher or any of the other coaches that got the team fired up this Sunday, do you?
Kerry doesn't sustain those drives like Vince did if he were in there.
I shudder to think that you can't see his improvement. I can't ask you if you're ignorant because unfortunately Jeff will prune my comments, even though it's not an insult IMO when the truth is spoken.

I don't understand how you can be so sure of that. Players progress. Players mature. Players can get better. That's what coaches are for. Seems like you are pretty hung up on the past. Let's at least give him a chance and see what does the rest of the season before declaring him a total bust and saying he will never win the big one. That remains to be seen and there's no way any of us can know for sure one way or the other.

To that I'd say if you're really a Titans fan you should want to see Vince continue to improve and succeed. We have a third overall pick and a ton of money invested in him. Why blow our 2010 first round pick on another QB who may or may not develop into a "real franchise QB" when we could possibly already have one on the roster? Just because you personally don't believe he can be a franchise QB doesn't mean he can't or won't.
If the Jacksonville game turns out to have just been a fluke and he plays piss poor for the rest of the season I'll be right there with you in wanting to go a different direction at QB. But for now I'm going to support him until he shows me that he isn't worth supporting.

No, really, I'm not. I'm trying to temper or qualify the ridiculously positive statements that so many are making as an overreaction to this game. In case you didn't notice, I agreed that he had a good game, and did what he was asked to do. You're right, he did show poise and confidence, but he has shown those before in one game or another. It's silly to think that this one game changes everything that we've seen from him before. What we need to see, and what I hope we'll see over the rest of the season, is long term consistency and progress. We need to see him maintain a streak of games controlling the ball and doing what he did on Sunday. The only question he answered on Sunday was whether or not he'd ever start for us again, and that wasn't really the big question about him.

Young played well on Sunday. Let's not make it into more than that. Do you really want to agree with the statement that he "made it happen" on 27/30 plays? Do you think he won us the game? Certainly not more than CJ, certainly not more than the return of Fuller and Finnegan. He played his part, and did it well. Let's hope he continues that, and try not to get ahead of ourselves.

Once again, terrible overstatement. Kerry could never do? Well, Collins has had a higher completion percentage several games before, and has had about ten regular season games with a better passer rating. The rushing yards? Remember last year against Houston, when Collins had 30 rushing yards, on 9 fewer carries?

I really don't ever want to defend Collins, he's never been a superstar and never will be. He was simply the best of our available options up until week five. Until he was on our team, I would have never picked him out to be our QB, and I was thrilled when we drafted Young. But please, try not to make ridiculous statements, like saying that Sunday was Vince's dimmest of days.

Again, Young had a good game on Sunday. Let's hope he keeps it up.
