I won't lie, Ubiq. Officiating at every level has been at an all time low. People get old, but they don't forget how the game is played. Something's strange about Florida's last two weeks being close. That guy's TD run was a touchback- he lost the ball near the goal line, trying to high step it into the end zone.

There should be an age limit for refs- maybe 45. Old people just aren't up to speed with the game anymore. Of course the league is in no hurry to weed them all out- I guess protecting the big names is still good for business, I don't know.

Officials are getting old and no one wants to step up and take their place because Refs are getting called out on every move they make.

Or you can look at it the other way...

The powers that be will not allow new refs because they may call the game the way they see it as opposed to the refs that call the game in favor of bama and florida.

Ageism. I'm not positive... but can they even instigate such a rule that puts an age-limit on a job?

Figured I'd post this one here, since there's nowhere else for it really. Trying to do something other than the uglies they've been wearing lately. Those striped orange pants are terrible and the wrong shade anyway.

This is McElroy's first year starting. He looked better in early games, so I think he is trying too hard to avoid turnovers and/or he has had his bell rung once or twice. Either way- his play has decreased. I don't think it is fair, however, too suggest he sucks when he hasn't had a full season as a starter under his belt. He should improve and until he does, the Tide will utilize the run and rely on their defense to minimize any damage that could occur from McElroy's inexperience.

And I LOVE a conspiracy theory, but I don't buy it. There have been way too many egregious officiating errors in SEC games involving teams other than Florida and Alabama.

Strong rumor they may break out some kind of black uniform this Saturday night against USCe. I don't think totally black, but maybe black jersey/orange pants or vice versa.

It was a very entertaining game and it sucks that UT lost in the fashion that they did. Last two games, Crompton played competent.
I think what bothers me the most is an Alabama player that was interviewed after the game. I didn't pay a lot of attention to who he was but more what he said.
He said something similar to" if we had lost this game our season would be over".
Dude, with that attitude your season is already over and you are looking too far ahead.

Apparently Kiffin was asked about the black uniforms at the post practice press conference yesterday and smiled then said you need to ask the AD about that. So who knows. I think it would be cool and the players would love it. I know some old stuck in the muds would be all up in arms about it, but they need to get over it.
