I completely agree with the lines I bolded. The problem is that Fisher hasn't shown ANY willingness or openness to adapt whatsoever. Week after week we see the same exact thing on the field. And we hear the same exact thing in his post-games.

I never said it would turn the team around. I said if the players actually played like they cared, which they haven't been for Fisher, then it might be worth considering keeping the interium coach.

The team has quit on Fisher, time to cut bait now...

If Cecil became head coach, would we ever keep a team under 50 pts?

Here's an assistant to throw out there. Im not sure about him, but I think he'll get a second chance at a head coaching job. Mike Nolan, as I mentioned in the Chuckie thread, he has done a heck of a job turning around that Denver D that was one of the worst in the league last year. Wonder if he could come here and do the same thing.

Maybe you aren't aware, but the words:

    Overhaul

    experiment

    and

    adjusted

will NEVER be a part of Jeff Fisher's vocabulary.

Nolan does sound like a better candidate considering how fisher has been doing..

I personally do not have a problem with what Fisher did at the Charity event. Yes it was bad timing, but if we were 6-0 people would not have had a problem with it. He is a guy trying to make light of a bad situation. Like I said I do not believe he meant it in a bad way at all... it was just bad timing. As for him being the coach, I think less about him leaving as the Heach coach and more about the situation that happened in Denver. I am a Fisher fan and I still support him, but everyone thought Denver was crazy for letting Shanahan go (he won 2 superbowls) and then got even more psised when they brought in a head coach that traded their star player.... O ya and they are 6-0... Makes you wonder if it is just time. Denver is drinking the Koolaid when everyone thought they would be a top 5 pick this year. We all know Fisher would have a job in 1 min though and I wish him well if that happens, but maybe the same message isnt working here anymore.

I'd actually give more credit to Brian Dawkins for changing the Broncos defense than Mike Nolan.

If the team doesn't improve, he's gone.
Mid-season is kind of pointless but I wouldn't seeing an overhaul during the off-season.
The only coaches who should stay are Washburn and Munch and McGinness.

I think the problem isn't so much that Fisher was a bad coach over his career as it is that he has clearly lost his handle on this year's team. And once someone's authority collapses like that they can almost never get it back. When they do it's because they openly admit their failure to everyone and make a radical change in approach - two things that Fisher will almost certainly never do.

He's certainly lost the general public, and not just because of his win-loss record. If he was a statesman he'd be a lot more Iraqi Information Minister than Winston Churchill - empty double-speak, maddening evasion and enough spin to make a test pilot puke. Nobody wants to hear your ******* cliches and blame displacement when the team is collapsing around your ears, and it takes some kind of divine stupidity to pull that stunt with the Colts jersey and then act surprised that you pissed everyone off. Sure, the jersey blowup is ultimately just trivia. But it's also a neat reflection of all of Fisher's faults, especially his pigheaded stubbornness and lack of basic common sense.
