He put him in to appease the fans - #$#@ off fans!

:grrr:Fisher doesn't want anyone to see him sweat. That's why he put Vince in IN A LOSING SITUATION.

I feel the same way as this. Vince was only put in because the game was over and Fisher felt the heat from the crowd. The boos toward Kerry made Fisher squeamish. That's why we saw Vince come in the game. Hearing Fisher's reasoning for putting Vince in makes that very clear. He said something along the lines of "when you're down like that late in the game, you typically see the backup come in." Then went on to say that Kerry is our starter, Kerry will start and Kerry is not the problem.

I have never hated Fisher more than I do now. He has been a class act for as long as I can remember so to see and hear him stubbornly protect Kerry makes me sick. Had it been Vince who was stinking it up like Kerry has, Vince would be benched without hesitation.

The only way I see Vince starting this season is for Kerry to go down with an injury. Next season, it looks more and more likely that Vince will be gone. I've never once bailed on Fisher or given up on him, but this one is different. He is making the wrong decision on this one. He knows it, Bud knows it, and we all know it. Kerry Collins is Kerry Collins. 13-3 doesn't change that.

No way. Titans fans are way too soft and friendly to be starting any kind of issues. These aren't Browns fans who will pelt the referees with beer bottles.
We could go 0-16, Titans fans will stop showing up, but no chance there will be any kind of backlash. (I can't say that's a bad thing necessarily, and that's what makes LP field a pleasant place to watch games: Southern hospitality)

And on a different note, as many have said, it's obvious why they put him in.. The game was over, and when you're blown out or blowing someone out, you put your 2nd stringers in. That's standard. We haven't seen that much because we rarely are in a lopsided game. When we won last year, it was by a slim margin (save a few games) because we are (were) a run-first team.

If anything, Vince should not have been mad about going in in the 4th. He gets to show himself on national TV against a defense who no longer cares if you score or not. Any PT is PT for Vince. No statement was made by the coaches here. If they benched Kerry at halftime, that's a statement. Benching starters in blowouts is nothing relevant.

he was put in because the game was a lost cause, and he didn't want kerry to risk injury in a pointless drive.

No, I didn't say that. However, if the fans were booing JF and KC during the Colts' game, you know dang well that Fisher is going to hear it if we lose to the Pats and Kerry starts after the bye during the Jax game.
We may not throw beer bottles, but we will yell out condescending statements and what we think about the coaching/playcalling.

Uhhhh...fans ceasing to show up at games IS a backlash. While I agree that Titans' fans are relatively civil compared to others, it doesn't mean they aren't incapable of making Fisher and Adams feel some repercussions of their less than stellar decisions this year.

Yes, Vince had every right to be mad. Fisher only put him in for one series...to me, that's a statement. While he didn't have to come in right after the half, the game was a 'blowout' as you say, not too long after the 3rd quarter started. Why didn't Fisher give Vince PT for Vince in the middle of the 3rd Q? So to me, your argument in these two paragraphs is MOOT.
