As a Colts fan, the "Fire Fisher" talk puzzles me.

Believe me, it can get worse.

How so? By getting to the point where you truly stop expecting your team to be competitive. And there are a whole lot of NFL fans who, whether they want to admit it or not, don't actually expect their teams to be successful. They hope for it, they complain about it when it doesn't happen....but they don't truly expect it.

That's a sorry place to be. And cycling through one head coach after another trying to find somebody who can put something together goes hand in hand with it.

If Jeff Fisher is fired by Tennessee after this season is over, I bet he wouldn't last a week on the open market. And I'd also bet that he'll have his pick of several offers, rather than the other way around.

    1. They probably wouldn't be calling for Dungy's job in your case because:
-Dungy hadn't been in the hot seat before (like Fisher was in 04-06)...remember www.firecoachfisher.com?
-Dungy hasn't had a losing season since he started for the Colts...and I can't even remember if he ever had a losing season with them

If one or two players are playing bad, you bench them because they are the problem (even though Fisher refuses to do even that).
If the whole freakin team is playing bad, with no heart, that's on the coaching, and ultimately falls under the responsibility of the leader...which is Fisher.
You must not know much about leadership.
-you can delegate authority, but not responsibility

Fisher is trying to delegate responsibility (by placing blame on everyone but himself) when he is responsible for this team.

I look at the Colts this year and I'm amazed. You have an unsettled O'line, two rookie WR's and a new coaching staff. I honetly expected a big slide for the Colts.

We have lost a DT,a DC and a return man and we have imploded.

I'm a long time fan of Fisher but even when we've had good seasons Fisher has been like Schottenheimer in the playoffs.

Sometimes a change is a good thing even if you haven't lost faith in your coach. !5 years is a long time.

The way the Colts have transitioned easily is frustrating. We only seem to excel when we have high calibre players. I look at Sean Payton,Mike Smith,John Harbaugh and Jim Caldwell with envy.

Lets just bring in John Crompton from UT. Maybe he could teach Kerry Collins a little something something about QB

In 15 years....one Superbowl appearance and 0 Superbowl wins. Fisher barely has a winning percentage! How can people keep saying he is one of the top coaches in the NFL ??? Time for a change.

Profootballtalk.com is saying that Gregg Williams and Mike Nolan will be "in play" this offseason, as both are working wonders with the Saints D and the Broncos D, respectively. Both of these guys are obviously defense-minded and, just thinking it through here, it's not outside the realm of possibility that either of them would retain Dinger as OC. I wouldn't mind seeing that scenario play out in February. What would people think about bringing Williams back to replace Fisher?

I agree with this. However, if he brings his ancient play-calling and refusal to adapt along with him his new team is going to be getting fleeced.

Fisher has somehow managed to get this reputation of being an elite coach when his record clearly states otherwise.

Of course a Colts fan wants us to keep Fisher. Just as I wanted them to keep Mora.
