I actually made a post sometime today about Collins not being able to finish games at times like during the 4th quarter. I just seen a interesting fact on him on ESPN.

Most Game Winning Drives 4th Quarter or OT (Active Players)

    1. Brett Farve- 39

    2. Peyton Manning- 37

    3. Kerry Collins- 29

    4. Tom Brady- 23

    5. Mark Brunell- 23

I can only think of one time he's done it as a Titan, though. I can think of sveral times when he was in that situation and fizzled out instead of swinging for the fences.

Yeah and how many have been recent. I don't care what he did 5 or 10 years ago, he hasn't done it in the past 3 games

I can think of at least three times he's done it with the Titans...

    1. @ Texans ('07)
    2. @ Ravens ('08)
    3. Packers ('08)

    Assuming field goals count.

    Good stuff.

Some people have unreal expectations and expectations as to what players should be able to do.

That's the big difference between last year and this year.

Last year, Collins did a great job of avoiding late mistakes, and played his best ball in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

This year, he's been strong out of the gate and played very well before halftime.....but in the third and fourth quarters, he's been somewhere between ineffective and just downright horrible.

Consider his performance for this year, broken down by quarters:

    Q1 - 95.8 rating, 9.6 YPA
    Q2 - 103.9, 8.1 YPA
    Q3 - 53.0 rating, 2.2 YPA.
    Q4 - 72.6 rating, 5.5 YPA

Granted, it's only been two games....but considering that we started seeing this late-game mediocrity last last year, it's a rather alarming trend.

I don't think anyone is looking for huge numbers through the air or a high-flying offense in the second half; just a few third-down conversions and maybe the occasional TD or FG. Is that too much to ask?

That stat is meaningless, especially if you don't compare it to # of games played. Last week they showed that Big Ben was the leading QB in 4th quarter/OT game winning drives since 2003 or something like that, yet he's not on the list...

What the stat shows is that in his career he averages about 2 game winning 4th quarter drives per season which is probably average for a starting QB.

Our problems in the 2nd half are due to many things. Poor blocking, lack of consistency running the ball, receivers getting open. Bad play calling!

Kerry was not responsible for 2 missed field goals or for sciafe's fumble or for griffin giving up an easy 6. He is not an elite QB we all know that but he has done enough for us to win those 2 games.

Are the titans a team or one guy?

He's 36 years old Einstein...Of course he's going to be somewhere on that list. I'd like to see the % of game winning drives vs game winning drives failed.

And he also has the 3rd most passing yards in the NFL among active QB's. But does that make him any better THIS year? I dont think so buddy. Try again...
