I voted Ramsey but it is still a close race and far from decided.

In the end, I think it is Young unless it is not close in favor of Ramsey.

I voted Young in this poll despite the fact that he was outplayed in the Hall of Fame game. I voted that way for the sake of the money he is paid and the draft capital that was spent in order to acquire him. Basically, I voted for him for the sake that he was the incumbent and the preferred result for our team would to have Vince beat out the competition and be the eventual starter.

Why am I posting now? In the second thread in this series the proposition of "flip-flopper" was floated. Now, instead of a near even split of opinion there is a tiny single digit group that believes that as of today Vince should be #3 and an overwhelming 95% believes that Vince should rightfully remain as #2. Why does this bug me? I dunno. Maybe it's because I'm sick of all this "HATER!!!" accusation stuff... maybe it's because all this sympathist/apologist stuff is getting out of hand...

what the hell is wrong with someone when they support the guy when he's clearly sub-par and blast those who can identify with the valid criticisms but get mad at people when they are swayed by marked improvement?

It reminds me of my wife!

My problem is the framing of the question. If the question was, who had the better game, I would take no issue.

But when the question is, Who should be the #2 QB for the Titans, and one week half the people say Ramsey, then they all turn and say Young... that's flip flopping. If you believed Ramsey should be the #2 after last week, I don't think he played terrible enough to be demoted, regardless of Vince's performance.

Alex, You have to weigh in the fact that Vince lowered expectations following the Hall Of Fame Game. I wagered $1000 gt his qb rating would be less than 60. I actually felt confident in that because those I spoke with about his camp performance last week made it sound like a safe bet. Of course I was wrong and for that I am happy I guess but I'm still not sold. It's not like Ramsey was all that noteworthy. Ramsey didn't look as good. That probably accounts for why some jumped off his boat.

Regardless of such, flip-flop is not even close to the right characterization of what you are describing. Fickle fans is a bit more apt. Flip-flop is about integrity and principle about matters that are significant to all. Whether Vince is the starter, the #2 or cut from the team really doesn't matter any more than the fan vote on American Idol.

Sorry I didn't use the term you would prefer, "fickle", and instead used the term "flip-flop".

In that case, we were all fickle during the '06 season, when Travis Henry became the starter. How dare we change our minds about Chris Brown.

flip flop is a matter of conviction.
fickle is just feeling high or down on based on what someone sees.

You are calling a person's character into question using the term flip flop.
