    National holiday.

This blows. Even though he became a weirdo, he was the greatest entertainer of our lifetime. Hands down.
My idol as a kid. I'd moonwalk for people at my dad's parties, then by middle school I was doing impressions for talent shows haha.

I'm just guessing of course but this could be a diet pill drug thing like elvis.

He was trying to get ready for a 50 concert tour and was not making good progress and had to push the date back. I'm wondering of he tried to do too much too soon. He is not the kind of guy who can perform with a beer gut and it is the type of performance that requires good conditioning and maybe he pushed himself too hard.

This happened to ali when getting ready for his fight with holmes though he never had any obvious ill effects from that outside of having nothing for the fight.

Although never really my brand of poison he was a phenomenal talent. The fact that he's so popular with twenty-somethings (regardless of their taste in music) speaks to how much his music of the eighties and early nineties reached and influenced children at the time.

There are millions of people now in their 30s and 40s who basically grew up with this guy and they will be hurting over this.

I feel for him if them really is dead. CNN is reporting that he was not breathing when EMTs arrived. Not breathing can mean many things.
