does anyone have any experience with this or know anyone that has ?

biggest advantage : Total Home DVR
1 DVR for the whole house
every connected receiver can view recordings
shows can be started in one room, paused and finished on another TV
4 recordings can be viewed on separate TV's at the same time from 1 DVR

also available is 18mb (discrete) internet

My brother has AT&T U-Verse, and he is happy with it. I think he pays the same as he did with comcast but gets every movie channel on the planet, I think. He said the only thing he was not happy about was his internet speed. They told him it would be faster than comcast, but he said it was the same if not a little slower. Other than that he loves it. I saw his cable guide when I was over at his house and I liked it, because it previews what is on each channel in a small box below. That way you know if the channel you want to watch is showing commercials at that time or not.. I hope this helps a little bit.

up here in the wisconsin it is crazy priced. for everything i get now i would have to pay like 30$ more.

i dont like the fact you have to pay more for hd. (10 bucks).
    just me.

you don't if you get the u450 package which includes HD and every movie channel
it's a trade off, Comcast charges me like $15 for DVR
Dish and DirecTV both charge for just having HD receivers plus one of them charges you a monthly fee to have DVR service + the charge for the receiver

All att's receivers are HD enabled, which works for me because we have 3 HD sets in the house, best I can remember when I was build / pricing packages from the Dish's, they want $100 for the equipment

see, i only have one hd set in the house...the others i dont care about (wife watches it).

i am going to be switching to direct tv. with the hd dvr package for like 55$. then add on sunday ticket and i will be a happy camper for the rest of the year.

i know with direct you get install for free...yeah you have to buy the box, but go to best buy and get it about 40 bucks cheaper then though direct tv

that is one of the biggest reasons. but i also like the lower price then cable, i like the fact you can program your dvr from any computer or cell phone...the most hd stations being provided by anyone.

not to mention they are supposed to be the first ones to broadcast 1080p. and its all digital (unlike what i have now)

yeah, 18mbps is pretty damn speedy
Comcast "offers" 8mbs (although SpeakEasy and Speedtest using Comcast servers return anywhere from 12mbps - 17mbps for me ... however, consistency is the key)

I just tried ordering the service online .... damn it's pricey
u450 (which includes absolutely everything) ($109 / month)
    18mbps (weeeeeee) ($65 / month) :hmm:
Total Home DVR :) + 3 more HD receivers for $7 each :hmm:
    $250 cash back rebate :greedy:

unfortunately, I received an error message
and my order was not processed

    possibly an omen
