how good do people expect his teammates to be, exactly? He's got a very solid supporting cast and depth on the bench.

This is just another excuse for his failing. Delonte West and Mo Williams would both be 2nd option guys on any other team. Mo could actually be the 1st option, and is better than Lebron, IMO.

Boobie Gibson, Pavlovic, and Ben Wallace don't even play much. That alone speaks for how well rounded the team is.

No excuses. HE's the one that came up short the last game. His teammates played well.

I hate critics who have no background as to what they're blabbering about. Under the circumstances LeBron is a ridiculous basketball player. The man will beat anyone in a one on one match up. His team lost him the series this time. It isn't 'his' team, but the world makes it out to be 'his' team. He needs a cast of players to excel leaps and bounds above the rest as Jordan and Bryant have. Look at the Lakers squad, look at those Bulls teams back in the 90's. Both of those phenomenal teams had more than one great thing, they all had 5-6 great things, whereas the Cavs have one great thing (LeBron). The guy is 24 and looks 30. He is stressed with the pressures put on his back, up til the other night he had been handling everything perfect. So he looses a finals series to the best team of the decade earlier in his career. Again he is only 24 years old, doing what usually takes guys in their late 20's to do. He is years ahead of his opponents and should only improve. Unless Cleveland wants to lose their relevance in America they better upgrade the other forward position and center spot quick. In 2010 somebody will throw hundreds of millions his way to play elsewhere, and why shouldn't he take it. The Cavs don't want to bother being great. The NBA Finals needs another Magic Johnson vs. Larry Bird era. That's what LeBron brings them vs. Kobe. We all knew in July of last year the Lakers would be back, but who expected the Cavs in there with them. LeBron is unbelievable and cant be blamed for a mediocre team to carry. The Orlando Magic did an amazing job last week and deserve to be there in mid June. I wonder how Dwayne Wade would do without Shaq a few years back, same for Kobe. How would Mike have been minus Pippen? Even Tim Duncan had help, Celtics too were an awesome group vs. everyone. Point being the Cavs better find a better cast to go along side James.

Maybe if Lebron could shoot jumpers and do something other than drive for fouls or layups- they might get over the hump?

Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant were/are gifted scorers. Not just athletes like Lebron.

Lebron's supporting cast vs Kobe's (considered the best in the nba)
    Mo Williams: 16 ppg
    Delonte West: 13 ppg
    Z Ilgauskus: 10.5 ppg
    Varejao: 7 ppg

    Pau Gasol: 18 ppg
    Lamar Odom: 12 ppg
    Trevor Ariza: 11 ppg
    Derek Fisher: 7 ppg

    The difference?

1.5 points. ONE POINT FIVE POINTS between their starting 4 other than Kobe/Lebron.

The rest of the Cavs team =

    16.5 ppg

    Lakers?

    17.7

Yeah... HUGE difference between supporting cast there.

Basically 2 points difference between Lebron's supporting cast and Kobe's.

    No more excuses.

Your missing one key thing smart guy; The Lakers are a smarter team. Those players on the Lakers take fewer shots and create less turnovers. It makes no sense to shoot threes with no one under the rim for offensive rebounds. The rhythm of the game has more of an impact. Down 22 points the Magic didn't shoot 13 threes, they chipped away at the lead to get back in it. Smarter players = more success. You missed that when you copied a few stats down. Show me a high basketball I.Q. team and I'll show you a championship. The Spurs sure as hell aren't the best athlets when they won 4 titles. Those guys know the game. Same with the Celtics. You take one athlete and give him more athletes, all you have is a basketball team of big fast guys. Add in some brains with that and you get winners. Jordan was smarter than he was big, same goes for Kobe. And YES Kobe has a better cast of teammates than LeBron.

Would Kobe have made the difference if he played for the Cavs? Would the Lakers be as good with James instead of Kobe?

You've got to be kidding me. Smarter players? They're even a better DEFENSIVE team than the Lakers are.
lmao the excuses never end. You prove one wrong, and there's still some backdoor random excuse that spawns from the original.

    Turnovers are your excuse?

    Cavaliers: 12.4
    Lakers: 13.7

Any other weak excuse you'd like me to crush?

The Cavs had the best record in the league, 66-16, even better than the Celtics record last year. They had the best defensive team in the league holding their opponents to only 91 PPG. Their offense averaged over 100 PPG. You don't do that with only 1 player. Where were all of the people saying LeBron needed a better supporting cast then? They were the ones saying LeBron is so great because he makes his teammates better.

:ha: The '07 Spurs the best team of the decade?? There's at least 6 or 7 teams I would take over them.
