(or just find overrated) Everyone has them. Everyone's are different. I'll add some now and then more later as I think of them, but this thread needs to be made. I'm tired of watching boring movies with lackluster plots that were hyped up because of the camera work.

    Starting off-

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - I bought this movie expecting it to be good. Everyone loved it, recommended it, etc... why? I swear half the people that say they like this one haven't even watched it. It's as boring as a film can possibly be. The characters are dull, the story even more pointless, and the movie never gets out of 1st gear.
I'd be pissed if I simply wasted the time watching it...but since I paid for it? Furious.

It sits in my dvd cabinet collecting dust. I will never watch it again. I hope someone breaks in to my house and steals that movie. Nothing else. Just that movie. Even if they break my door to get it.

A Clockwork Orange - Ok, I get why this one has a cult following, as long as the following is from that era. If not, they're just pretentious dorks lying to themselves because they think they're supposed to like it. That's all I can fathom at least.
Again, a movie I wanted to like. Seemed artistic (especially for it's time), but that's all. It was edgy and artistic for it's time. Nothing more. The story was garbage. The characters were ok, but in the end it's a movie that makes you wonder why you watched it.

Kill Bill volumes 1- whatever they're all the same - No real explanation needed here. It's entertaining, but extremely CHEESY. Mostly just overrated in my opinion. Plus, Tarantino is a joke anyway that couldn't develop a decent plot to save his life so he makes pretentious nonsense and adds "style" thinking it'll make up for the stories lack of...well... story.

    which brings me to...

Pulp Fiction- Great characters don't make great MOVIES. They're just great characters that make you wish there was a story worth following that they're involved in. In this case- there isn't. Moving on...

Star Wars I - yet another movie simply great for it's time, and nothing else. If it were released for the first time tomorrow under any other name, no one would care.

Citizen Cane - How anyone made it further than 45 minutes in to this bore-fest, I'll never know.

ScarFace- I like it. But it's nothing special.

Napoleon Dynamite - Painfully dry and unfunny. I think it's mostly nerdy high school kids that like this one, but if 10 people like it- it's 10 too many. The funniest part of this movie was the Vince Young throwing motion.

Shaun of the Dead - Lynch me now. I know it's coming, because I think I'm the only person that thought this movie was terrible. It was as if that group of kids from 8th grade that tried their hardest to be funny while everyone else rolled their eyes wrote a parody script...and adults played the parts.
Most cliche' brainless humor ever. Basically like they didn't even use a script, they just freestyled the entire thing. On the spot. Just 'fart joke' type humor. No wit or anything.

Juno - It's not funny enough to be a comedy. Not dramatic enough to be a drama. Not worthy enough to be recorded... next.

Capote - I'm a PSH fan, but this was possibly the most boring movie I've ever seen.

The Changeling - Sad that the one movie Jolie finally shows talent in, is a borefest with no point. Just a debbie-downer film with no direction. No purpose. This saves Capote as being the sure most boring movie I've ever seen.

No Country For Old Men - It's a good movie. Just not a great one (imo) like everyone else seems to think it is. Extremely overrated.

I'll add some more if I think of them.

    Watchmen... hated it.

I'm not saying everyone seemed to like it, but I've heard plenty of folks say it was great.

    It sucked... hard.

300 - I was laughing for most of this bull. I like the graphic novel by Miller too. Everything about this movie is absurd to me; the acting, the ridiculous action sequences. Ugh.

Chasing Amy - This movie makes me physically angry when it's on and people are enjoying it. I saw Catwoman, and I thought it had more redeeming qualities than this POS. Actually, Kevin Smith just sort of annoys me with his terrible writing.

The Happening - Wait, everyone hated this. My girl got free movie passes to see this in the theaters, and I walked out to the lobby and asked for the passes back when Wahlberg started pleading to a flower. The manager must have known it was a turd, because he gave me two new passes without much coaxing.

Juno - I stayed for all of it, and I still regret it. Everything was too cute for me. I hated Jason Bateman in this, which says something because I think he's hilarious usually.

This thread has put me in a terrible mood. :ha:

300 was pure eye candy. Other than that...
But I do still leave it on just for the prettiness.

    I agree with those man.

    Some of mine;

The Waterboy-it's just not funny apart from a couple of scenes.Adam Sandler has a knack for turning corny crap very enjoyable movies.I like almost every film he's made but for this one.

Taxi Driver-great performance by DeNiro but as a piece of entertainment it's crap.

Titanic-The most torcherous 3hrs+ I've ever had to endure in a cinema.

Wedding Crashers-I watched it without laughing once.I've never seen so many tumbleweeds blow through the living room.

Jurassic Park- All hype no plot.Awful movie lauded for ground breaking special effects but the truth is the makers of Terminator 2 did the ground breaking on said effects.

    The Spiderman Franchise
    -It's just gay

Mrs Doubtfire-die you cross dressing tosser.Robin Williams can be an incredibly entertaining actor but so many of his comedy roles are ridiculous and annoying.By far though Mrs Doubtfire has to be one of the most annoying characters ever to hit the big screen.

The Fast and The Furious franchise
-Bad acting, zero plots and ridiculously unrealistic driving.Who keeps watching this crap?

Shrek-The first one was funny,it's all been down hill since then.

Definitely agree with Spiderman. As with almost every other superhero movie other than V for Vendetta (if that counts), and the last 2 Batmans, Blade, and maybe xmen.
