Nice article about Britt vs Nicks from a Rutgers/Giants fan in the NY Times Blog:

After watching highlight reels I'm not very concerned with the criticism of his drops. He might let technique slip occasionally but I've seen plenty of perfect catches where he snags the ball with good hands and gets it into his body quickly to take a hit... This blogger has a good point, too in that most of his routes are very low-percentage deep balls to begin with. In most clips he's either having to go to the ground to dig a ball out of the dirt or pull in a ball that was thrown behind him or over everyone's head.

I've heard too many Rutgers fans scratch their head over those criticisms to believe they're legit. As I remember CJ's scouting report said he couldn't block, had attitude problems, and was too small to run up the middle. Here's hoping they were just as accurate with Britt.

The Rey Rey he's referring to is Rey Malulugey.

I think Britt is a very solid pick here. I was ECSTATIC to see Nicks go to NYG and I wish him all the best. But having watched him in a few games...I was never impressed enough to think 1st RD?! His circus catch vs. WVU was amazing and I think it ranks right there with the little dood from Alabama's catch but 1 catch vs. Britts numbers? Heck Nicks wasn't even the best WR on the team till Brandon Tate got hurt. Nicks AT BEST maybe an Eric Moulds, Yancey Thigpen, Antonio Freeman type. I think Britt who is faster, bigger, and has more production has a greater upside. The only issue is the offense. Will Britt even see 40 balls this season? I doubt it...Between Gage, N Washington, Scaife, CJ out of the backfield -- he may get 20-30 his way. Unless Dinger shakes up the O a bit, Britt may takes as much time to develop as our last good WR - D Mase. Then BAMMM he's gone to the Ravens. Like every other former Titan.

Are you serious? With very few exceptions he did a great job picking up blitzes last year... which is why he earned himself more and more playing time as Fish saw he could be trusted on the field as an every down back. You think the O-line was the only reason behind Collins staying upright all year? No way does Fisher leave a back in on 3rd and long who can't pick up a blitz.

Do you mean that in the sense of knowing where the blitz is coming from and picking up a blitzer(i.e. blocking assignments) or do you just mean him being able to take a defenseman one on one straight up?

Because I'm not sure I agree with you and I'lll have to ask you to cite sources or videos to back your statements up.
