Vince scored 7 redzone TDs. (4 pass, 3 rush)
    Collins scored 8.

to say Collins scored and Vince didn't isn't true.

Vince just didn't convert his opportunities, he had something like 10 more trips into the redzone but we only scored twice more.

  3. actually i would argue that when chris johnson went down in the playoffs, we had a better chance of winning the game the collins did at that point!!!!

It's not just the int's Vince threw, either. Our defense started out dominant in 2007 but as the season went on they wore down and became less effective. Vince had way too many 3 and outs in 2007, putting the D back on the field too much. When Bullock was talking about having to take 90 snaps, if that's what it took, he was directing that at Vince.

I really dislike the fact that people use that quote from Bulluck when there is no context of the question that was asked to get the response. That means that a person can only guess what was asked.

When asked point blank after the game, Fisher stated that if Vince had quit he would not have been allowed back out on the field.

While it is true that Vince was slow to take the field, he did take the field and was injured.

Personally, I think that our team has 2 qbs with probowl and playoff experience. (I beleive Fisher has said this too.)

I do give value to the job that Kerry did last year and think he did well (and deserves to be the incumbent starter). I am also of the opinion that our team would have made the playoffs with VY.

I personally don't believe that a comparison of a player in his 3rd year to a player in his 14th year is a fair comparison, especially when you take into account personnel and coaching differences between two years.

I also don't believe that one guy (who was a known project coming out early) is deserving of all the malicousness that gets heaped on him.

Then again, I am more likely to realize by virtue of a player having a roster spot when there are only so many available, that they are among or the team thinks they have the potential to be among the best players in the world.

I realize that every player on the roster has some kind of value to the team.

Seeing that as a fact, I have sincerest hopes that they all succeed.

    http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afcsouth/0-9-44/Vince-Young-s-cap-implications.html

Vince Young's cap number leaps from $4.62 million to $14.21 million in 2010.
The Titans could still restructure Young's contract, but they're in no obvious rush to do so. More importantly, the Titans would save $9.29 million under the salary cap by releasing or trading V.Y. next offseason. An uncapped year could change all this, but at this rate Young seems unlikely to be a Titan beyond 2009. Teams don't pay backup quarterbacks this kind of money.

    Boiling it down:

If the Titans were to part ways with Young before this season starts, it would actually cost them an additional $2.76 million against the cap. But in swallowing a $7.38 million cap hit in 2009, the Titans would take Young off their books beyond 2009 and then save the complete scheduled cap numbers in 2010 and 2011.

Barring a scenario where he replaced an injured Kerry Collins and had an MVP season or won a Super Bowl as the starter -- and maybe even in the context of such unlikely events -- it's unfathomable that Young will be a Titan under this contract in 2010 -- when he's due a $4.25 roster bonus, a $7.5 million base salary and would cost $14.21 against the cap under contract and only $4.29 million if he was taken off the roster in 2010.

I miss VY...he was more exciting to watch and I felt more comfortable with the ball in his hands in the clutch then I do with Kerry. Kerry just pisses me off for some reason.
