What are you talking about? I brought up the fact of you taking this post.

And came out of it with this. Thus grabbing any little thing to help you. Even though it doesn't.

Both sides need to take a step back and say:

A: VY isn't as bad as I make him out to be. He probably would have done fine, or at least pretty good, as the Titans starter in 08.

B: VY is a not great QB. Maybe he can be, maybe not. At this point he has a lot of work ahead of him but time will tell.

It's when dummies on both sides post thoughts to either extreme that the other side feels they must post back and defend. I know this post will go no where but it's the truth. Just like I am sure this will be argued over even when he is either traded or the starter here.

Soooo...even though we scored inside the 20...it means nothing because...what? Aside from proving your point wrong.

Any way you look at it, we scored.

VY scored 7 redzone TDs, Collins scored 8.

2007 offense scored 44 times in the redzone, 2008 scored 42.

2008 was better, no doubt. But to say it meant nothing because he didn't score is clearly wrong.

I've never understood why this argument is made. We made the playoffs in 2007 with Vince at QB and no elite skill players around him. Why would you think he wouldn't have won 10-12 games in 2008 given the improvement in LenDale's red zone running and CJs dynamism and big play ability being part of the mix. Assuming Vince would some how cancel all that out isn't based on anything that actually happened or was likely to happen. This team wasn't going backward in 2008 whether the QB was Vince or Kerry. Even if you assume Vince would have repeated his "one" red zone pick and two red zone sacks, you can hardly convert that to fundementally altering the opportunities that LenDale and CJ had to score. When you add to that that play-calling in the Red Zone was much improved in 2008 vs 2007 and its very plausible that the scoring results would have been very similar with either QB.

  5. Interceptions change the game. There were rumors (granted these are only rumors) that some of the defensive leaders on the team were getting tired of taking up the slack while VY got the credit. I don't know what kind of truth there is to those rumors, but they make sense. The entire chemistry of the team could have been changed had VY been under center.

Just a side note: We only won 10 games in 07. New England won 11 in 08 and didn't make the playoffs. The slightest change could have cost us the division and possibly the playoffs. Indy may have started slow, but they were only one game back.

The thing is that no one actually believes this crap about the team missing the playoffs with Vince. Everyone would have expected to make the playoffs if Vince had started, it's just that he went down and everyone who decided they don't want him around are taking the shots while they can and that's all it is.

The other side of the spectrum doesn't even exist so we should stop talking about it. You have one side saying that Young is the worst thing ever and the rest are simply saying that he's not that bad.

After all, there is no one running around saying that Vince Young would have led the team to the Super Bowl.

Saying that we would have done even better with Vince is the other side of the spectrum. At this point we should all just hope he turns it around ..... thats on and off the field.

  8. I don't think anybody can disagree with that.

I do/did.I didn't want to see another season of the Defence carrying the offence. It was a legitimate concern as that was exactly what happened in 07'.It's not a recipe for winning a championship.

I felt optimistic that he would be more like he was in 06' but at the same time I had concerns that he could turn over the ball at any moment.

When he got injured I thought the season was over because KFC wasn't expected to be much of a safety net.

The 'quiting' episode in the Jags game disgusted me.When the fall out came with questions of a breakdown I was more concerned for him as a person than the Titans QB.Any time I hear something like that I have empathy.I wanted him to get help and if he needed to walk away from football fair enough, personal well being is bigger than football.

All we got was denial and damage control. He shunned the press when he really needed to get them on side. His PR was badly mismanaged and still is i my opinion.A little humility would have gone a long way.

In the mean time Collins and the team moved on.The biggest difference with Collins that can't be questioned by any side is that he didn't turn over the football like Vince did.He didn't cause our defence to be on the field as much.

Our defence made more turnovers and we committed less.We were just as conservative as we were in 07 but it works if you're playing keep away.

There is little anyone can find to get to the bottom of whether Vince really quit or not.If you watch the game again there was clearly something going on with him and Fisher but there's no audio and nobody has talked.

    Bulluck's post game quote though is very telling;
