Posted by ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky
Courtesy of Jacksonville's PR department, I got to look over some comments from some Jaguars players. I linked earlier to a story that hit on David Garrard slimming down, but thought the specifics were of interest:

How much weight have you dropped?

"I have dropped about 15 to 20 pounds, somewhere in there. I don't know exactly which one it was. The last time I was this size I was a junior in high school. So the last time I was 232, which is my official number right now and I think want to stay there and stay at least below 235, somewhere in there. I just think it'll make me a little bit swifter, a little quicker, able to get out of the pocket a little bit easier and not get chased down by nose tackles."

Were you told to lose weight or is this something you did on your own?

"No, just something I thought might be something to benefit me and my career. And I know that Jack (Del Rio) has always said, 'If you could ever get down to that size then I can almost guarantee you'll be a Pro Bowl quarterback.' So I wanted to take those words and run with them, literally."

How did you lose the weight?

"I did a little bit of working out but actually I just cut out complex carbs for three weeks, and you'll be amazed at how much bread and sugar will impact your body and if you take them out of your diet, then you will drastically drop that extra pounds, extra fats. And so that worked for me and now I'm back to eating normal but not to the same level that I was before."

What did you weight last season?

"Last season I was averaging around 250, 252; probably 248 to 252, somewhere in there."

With no carbs, what did you eat?

"I ate salads and a little bit of meat on top of my salads, and a lot of shakes. I cut probably my calorie intact from 3,000 calories to probably 1,200. So if you're not bringing in that many calories, your body is automatically going to start burning it."

I think Lendale did drop some weight but he did it by quit super sizing his combos and started drinking diet coke also

Lendale seems like the type that'd supersize his combos BECAUSE he's ordering a Diet Coke.
