I think he has no choice but to trade Cuter.

McDaniels was hand picked. He has a good record up to this disaster. To fire him would make the owner look like a bigger idiot than he already does and give Cutler way to much leverage.

If he fired McDaniels he practically have to OK his replacement with Cutler.

McDaniels looks like an idiot right now but IMO Bowlen has to stand by him and back him.It will take the Broncos some time to rebuild to fit McDaniels system.Trading Cutler will at least give him an edge from which to start in the draft.

If Cutler goes somewhere else and wins the SB McDaniels will always be remembered as Bus Cook's b'tch.

I'd say force Cutler's hand, because he really has no choice... but something in me says your starting QB is the 1 position you don't do that with. There has to be a deep trust between a QB and his head coach. I agree with Childress... Bowlen can't fire McDaniels now - so unless they plan on publicly stating that Jay is the guy they want and they really were just entertaining an outside trade request, letting Cutler go is the best option.

This is tough, and I think no one looks good in this situation. It doesn't look good when the coach is trying to bring in a different starter at QB, and it doesn't look good the way Cutler has appeared so whiny about the situation.

If I were in the owner's spot, at this late stage of pre-draft offseason, I would trade Cutler for as many good picks as I could get.

Given the sorry decline of their defense ever since Al Wilson was injured, I think they need to throw multiple draft picks at this situation. And shore up the O and D line, the core of the game. Get on the phone with Jeff Garcia as their "KFC-option". And look at drafting the long-term franchise QB replacement in 2010, 2011.

And McDaniels would be on a short-leash. Going this route its doubtful they would be a winner in the next year or two, so how McDaniels carries and manages the team would be critical in keeping him or trying to get one of the "name" coaches available.

You've gotta keep them both, though it depends if Denver are considered in 'rebuilding' mode. If they get a ridiculously good offer (like Detroit got for Roy Williams) you think about it, but I say you gotta keep him.

If he doesn't like it, bench him.

I'd have Cutler out to the house and tell him his only option is a trade to the Lions. That should shut him up.

    I don't agree.

As the owner or a Broncos fan yeah I'd be pissed off with him. So far though as an outsider I'm leaning towards Cutler as the wronged party.

After last season when Shanahan is fired Cutler begs for them to retain the OC.Historically franchise QB's tend to get more leeway than any other position when it comes to saying who coaches them.

Bolen had a clearout and Cutler quietly asks to be traded. No way he gets his wish. Now 3 months later your new HC is exposed by the media as trying to trade you away.Something you've already asked for & been turned down.

Your new HC is quoted as saying that he listened to offers for you in a 3 way trade to get Cassell his former man crush.Less than a wek later your new HC is caught in lie by confirming that yes he actively pursued a way to trade you for Cassel.

It doesn't matter if you are a multi million dollar QB or a shelf stacker at K Mart your not going to be happy about how you've been treated. The shelf stacker has to suck it up but the QB's agent is going to milk it to death.

    I don't blame him.

i say we offer Chris Johnson, Collins and our 2nd round pick.

before you go crazy, let me say any team that wants Cutler is gonna have to get rid of some talent. you cant throw average players at the Broncos and think they will bite. You must pay the price for a Young franchise QB.

You can forget us getting Cutler without giving up one of our elite players.

If i were the Broncos, i wouldnt trade Cutler and make him sit on the Bench and rot until he was ready to play.
