Just reported on ESPN. Don't know if one could consider it a rumor or not, but they said he was traded for undisclosed draft picks to the Bucs.

The Browns said they were gonna keep either Winslow or Edwards, but probably not both. They clearly made their choice.

Browns trade TE Winslow to Buccaneers (AP)

The Cleveland Browns have traded talented and troublesome tight end Kellen Winslow to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for undisclosed draft picks. Winslow's five years in Cleveland were marked by injuries and controversy. He missed most of his first two seasons with injuries, but made the Pro Bowl in 2007 after making 82 catches for 1,106 yards.

Eh, it's the basis a fair trade. I'd be willing to kick in next year's third or second, or make it performance-based. It doesn't change the fact that Edwards wants out. They've got a Chad Johnson situation on their hands. He's going to like playing for Mangini far less than Romeo. And it's not like they've kissed and made up, either. They're not even speaking. The Browns are rebuilding and in his own way, Edwards is as much of a malcontent there as Winslow was. Heck, even in the end, Winslow was just a simpering baby. "Ugh-huh-huh...this place is just filthy...ugh-huh-huh...they're trying to kill me...ugh-huh-huh...(call the police)." Just sad. I felt really sorry for the guy.

Anyway, I don't think the Browns trading Edwards is a closed book. They can use him to rebuild. Besides, they're in position to draft Crabtree or Maclin if they want.

I'd even consider giving Scaife and this year's second for Edwards. We wouldn't have to draft a #1 receiver, or heck, we still could. This looks like a draft to get a decent Scaife replacement, or we could still go after Gonzalez if they wanted to rebuild the offense that way. But either way, I think Scaife's production is easily replaced and Edwards is still overall likely better than any draft pick we'd get this year. He had a horrible year with drops, but he's the complete receiver and it's not like DBs would stop covering him. He runs good routes and is a legit deep threat. I think Collins would have Edwards back to being a pro bowl receiver. The guy's only a year removed from a 16 TD season, and I have to say I like Collins better than Derek Anderson.

Just saying, if it's an option, it should be considered.

    Lol...

It is doubtful you could get Tony Gonzalez for our 2nd and Scaife and TG is only around for a year or two max. Why would the Browns give up such a good player - who is a Pro Bowl caliber guy for the next 5-7 years - four a very late 2nd and a TE even YOU think can be replaced in the draft?

Edwards would require our first AND probably other stuff...like Scaife and a 3rd...perhaps more. You think Mangini's gonna go to Cleveland and immediately give away there best players for relatively nothing?
